Its 10 inches to donate to Locks of Love, its what I did before I left for bootcamp.
Great choice on donating your hair. Locks of Love will appreciate a 12 inch donation but a 10 inch is the minimum.

10 inches is the correct length but be prepaired to loose a couple more when they style your hair.
Also I want to let you and everyone else know that when you donate your hair, That about 5% of the hair donated is used to make wigs. 85% is used to sell to manufactors of hair dye shampoos and conditoners products and the other 10% is just thrown away.
But if you feel good about doing it then do it. This is just information you should have. Its a great cause but you may not be imortalized by your hair. And if its not in perfect shape (never colored, permed) it may end up in the dumpter.

I got my hair cut last year and donated it...gave about 16 inches...and it was boy-short. Funny thing, because I am a guy! If your hair is only 2-3 inches below your shoulders, you don't have enough hair to donate...
Maybe you could donate blood instead?

When you put ur hair in a ponytail it needs to be 10 inches from rubberband to end, at minimum. Also, the hairdresser will have to chop off the ponytail, as a whole, not just cut your hair with it fallin to the floor, so make sure youve got enough length for your new style

You only need to give them ten inches in a ponytail . When I cut hair for a donation, I split it into pigtails, leaving your hairstyle longer. Then you have two to donate!

Yeah U are correct. If U really want to present something, then go for a better option. Rather U keep it with U and wait for the next Christmas to come.
