Maybe. The water itself is not contaminated. However, the tank isn't sealed and the water could pick up contamination from the surrounding air. Sort of the same thing as leaving a glass of water out in the open for several weeks. The other issue would be residue from toilet bowl cleaners that are put in the tank.

if it was an emergency yes..
That water is clean, the toilet works on gravity since water does not move up hill it cannot be contaminated. So yes you can drink it. It is worse to drink water from a water hose than to drink it from the water tank on the toilet

The water has come straight from the cold water tank, which is also where the water from your cold taps comes from. However, I don't think it would be a particularly good idea to drink it. I don't even drink tap water, I always buy bottled water (I buy the Tesco Value stuff which is really cheap).

while it is gravity feed bacteria can still travel into that tank, I would just pour in some bleach before drinking it that way it will be clean and since your next to the toilet when you start vomitting you wont make a mess!

NO WAY thats just nasty! unless ur a dog! Use tap water or go buy bottled water! Thats like drinking ur own piss and #@^&. If u are that cheap use a water fountain near u!!

NO! It has probably been sitting, thats nasty! Did someone have it by accident or something? EWWW! I guess if I were going to DIE and it was the only way to stay alive or something I would give it a try at that point...
