I need to reinstall the Windows 98SE operating system, and I don't have a disk. My son's computer crashed.

You can download a legal copy of windows vista at the following site for free if compatable with your computer
download.windowsvista.com
If 98SE was pre installed on your computer start computer in safe mode by pressing F8 key at start up windows explorer lwindows look for a folder named options open folder click on setup.exe your computer will then re install your 98SE this product is no longer available from microsoft and now freely available you will need you cd key

If you are looking for Window OS, it is illegal to download. You have to purchase.
If you are looking for free OS, try Linux. Most are free, though some may required a small fee.

Downloading Windows is not illegal in itself because the CD is universal, but if you use a pirated key, then it is illegal. Try searching on the Peer 2 Peer file sharing networks...I'm sure it's there. I use eMule.
