Not all, the concept of intelligent design has more room for flexible timing (a day not really being 24 hours to God). I find myself agreeing with this. Have you ever noticed how the order of creation in Genesis is the exact same order of creation conjectured by scientists? Interesting coincidence isn't it?

Actually, I'm not sure about the Adam and Eve story and dinosaurs, but I do know that when the Bible says days, it's not meant to be taken literally. The seven days are really more like the seven stages of creation. So, each separate stage could have even taken thousands/millions of years to occur. So theoretically, it could means that the dinosaurs were just part of that process which only reached culmination when humans were first created.
And no, I've never read the Bible. I've read this explanation somewhere before though, but I can't remember where.

Yes, people do believe that story, literally too. Dinosaurs... in the Bible, it mentions creatures called Behemoth and Leviathan that sound remarkably similar to some dinosaurs, and also, there have been discoveries of dinosaur bones having actual skin tissue inside of them, and unless those bones are less than 30000 years old, that's impossible...
So, yeah, it seems like dinosaurs weren't actually living all that long ago.

Hello Wave,
Yes i am a creationist, although i have never sworn on the Bible.
I believe the earth was created in 6 days and is a young earth. I have good reason to think these things to be true. Perhaps it may help you to look into it yourself as i know it's not popular to be an individual and can be hard to stand up for what you believe . One good solid site i know run by people i trust is csm.org. Its based in Portsmouth England. You can send for info really cheaply or download pamphlets free, and it makes interesting reading. Its run by scientists in each field of expertise where creation is concerned. Good truth seeking xx

Yes, It is only 7 days -
Creation is the same order as big bang, and evolution - Coincidence?
Most cultures have cave drawings of dinosaurs / dragons - coincidence? Job described them in the bible.
Many books were written on this topic - It is much to large to describe here.
Now scientists want us to believe in dark matter / dark energy - it is 90% of the universe, but can not be detected or interacted with.
If you cange how long the universe has been around, things fall into place

Some are slightly potty, but most normal people of that persuasion recognise that the bible if full of stories designed to make a point, rather than absolute truths in themselves. Some are announced as such (e.g. Jesus' parables) and some are not (e.g. 7 day creation story). Just because we now understand that the world wasn't made in 7 days (or six with a day's rest, to be precise) doesn't mean that the whole book is a croc.

Sorry...7 days does not mean 7 earthly days. One day could be several million years. Which would allow for Dinosaurs etc.
I feel that the Bible and all religions become dangerous when ancient texts are taken verbatim.

...this question is like...so old?
It would be downright ludicrous to assume it was in terms of days as we know it. The time we know is not the same as God's time. Not everything in the Bible ought to be seen as literal, it has an allegorical aspect because God calls on us to enact wisdom and intelligence in our lives, thats why he gave us a brain, not to sit around idly on Y.A and ask silly questions. If this question is asked with pure intent, then i apologize but so much mockery goes on in here that i wont be surprised if u're just another of these small minded dimwits who aint got no life.
Well - its like with poetry, in poems we have lots of colourful speech, thats what made shakespeare so popular in his time, and beyond.
if life was only made up of plain speech (and there was no coded languages such as maths or lisp (if u dont know, lisp is a programming language) then where or HOW in God's earth would we have progressed??
for instance, if i made a statement by way of a joke which had a play on words, it makes for quite a humorous and fun exchange of conversation, rather than a dull and factual account of exchanging information.
imagine you saw your best friend everyday, and you asked the same questions every day, and you ran the same dialogue all the time...wouldnt you just get bored (well, anyone with half a brain would, never mind me who has lots of it).
So, in conclusion, i dont discredit that dinosaurs lived on earth, there is physical evidence of it, and the Bible says that when God made life forms, that 'creatures roamed the earth'....we are not given too much detail, because u see, life does not revolve around dinosaurs, the issue with dinosaurs is an old one, it only serves to raise the fear around what made them extinct, and to keep us worrying because, MAYBE what made them extinct, could make us extinct too if we dont watch out. and then some idiots have the nerve to turn around and say that Christians FEAR challenges and christians fear this and that and other such garbage. the only people who instill fear inthis instance, are scientists. science is interesting, it asks intelligent questions, BUT, wisdom is an application of a higher intelligence which passeth that of everyday understanding.

Of course I do. If the bible says it, I believe it. When it comes to dinosaurs, most people don't know that the very word dinosaur didn't even make it into our language until the 1800's. The bible speaks of dragons, great beasts, leviathans, any of which could be dinosaurs. As to what became of them, you got me. That I don't know.

Yes they do but some of them told me that when they say days they mean a day as a period of time, not an actual day, like we say "in my day" meaning when the old person was much younger.
All a pile of guff to make sense of it I think... but yes... lots of Bible worshippers believe it...
I don't.. I'm an Atheist.... thank God ;o)
As far as Dinosaurs go, man wrote the Bible and at that time they did not know of the existence of Dinosaurs. They only spoke of a few fabled creatures. Bible believers will tell you they are mentioned... Just smile knowingly at them... they can't help themselves...
Enjoy your bank holiday..

Behemoth and Leviathan are both mentioned in Job; Leviathan is mentioned in other books as well. The book of Job seems to take place after Noah, as Job was the offspring of Issachar (Gen. 46:13), and Eliphaz (mentioned in Job was the offspring of Esau Gen 36?)..
I have seen some speculation that Behemoth and leviathan were 'hippo's and crocodiles' but the scriptural description do not seem to fit those analogies.
