Maybe in Louisiana, but not in other parts of the world. It just seems that way for others. Not really.

The end of the world is not yet. Before Jesus returns for the second coming...there is at least a seven year tribulation period, and we have not entered that time yet. I believe the rapture of the church (the removal of all born again Christians, who will meet the Lord in the air) will trigger the beginning of that seven year period. At the second coming, Jesus actually comes down to earth and sets His foot on the mount of Olives.
I do believe we are seeing, as Jesus said, the "beginning of birth pains"...that is, signs are pointing towards the end times, yes. But how long until this actually happens, only God knows.
By the way, the info above about the New Jerusalem in inaccurate. The New Jerusalem will be descending from heaven...and that is sometime still yet to come.

Those who believe the end of the world is coming almost invariably believe it will come in their lifetime. They are invariably mistaken. History is filled with examples. Y2K was mild by comparison to preceding end-of-millennium hysteria. Actually we're doing much better than our ancestors did. At least we have more warning that hurricanes are coming than a change in the waves and the behavior of birds and seals. We don't have to wait for help and food to reach disaster areas by horse, mule, or ox. Not many children die from yellow fever or falling into fireplaces any more. Tuberculosis isn't rampant among the population or a death sentence anymore. We don't have to run a mile to ring a metal bell to summon firemen. There are always changes going on. For good. For bad.

People have been predicting the end of the world since its beginning. If I had a penny for each "end of the world" story I've heard, I'd be a billionnaire. Sorry to disappiont you, but the world won't end for another 5 billion years or so.

i'm from louisiana, and the end of the world will never happen, unless th earth explodes. now if your talking about the end of humanity, its an individual thing. if you listen to much without making your own assessment in life then youprobably would believe this. just live your own life and take care of the ones youlove around you. if you die, your dead, you'll never know what its the end of.

No, I don't think it's getting close to the end of the world.
However, people have been predicting the end of the world since the dawn of time!

In Matthew's account, the disciples asked what would be the sign of the last days. Jesus gave a number of those signs - earthquakes, wars, diseases, and the preaching of the good news of God's Kingdom. You can read chapter 24.
And, Paul gave a list of the kind of people that would exist in the last days. 2 Timothy 3:1-5
Since I see these things happening more and more, then yes, I think we are in the last days.

I have heard alot of people on TV brodcasts and in real life saying that the world will end in 2012. I just keep living each day as if it were my last and not worry about it too much. It will end when it will and we cant do anything about it.

The end of the world is rapidly approaching and here are the signs; Diseases will increase (Aids, Hiv, Bird flu, Small pox, STD's) >> Did you know that disease and famine have tripled since 1985? Daniel 12:4 "Knowledge will increase" - How did they know the brain would become smarter in the future? Maybe the writers of the bible knew about the Evolutionary process 3500 years before we did? Interesting, isn't it? Wars and rumors of war - The whole world is at war right now. As a matter of fact.. Iran is planning a "Doomsday" attack on America and Israel. Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said "Imagine the world without Israel (The smaller Satan) and America (the Greater Satan). The Muslim terrorist network wants to vaporize all non-muslim people, that includes you and me. And they will do whatever it takes to make it possible. The United States of America wanted an answer from Iran about their Nuclear weapons program by June 29, 2006. Iranian president said he needed an extra two months to make a decision. Why did he need that two extra months? Iran just purchased $1-billion worth of nuclear weapons from Russia. Experts say these missles are capable of leaving Iran and hitting New York City or Washington, DC within several seconds. Pretty scary stuff, huh? We need to think about this before it's too late. We can possibly stop this madness of destruction. Ok, back to end time prophecies... Back in 1915 or 1917 Mary (The Holy mother of Jesus) appeared in the Vatican and said "There will be seven great wars before the end of the world" Well, let's go to math class, shall we? (World war I, World war II, Korean war, Vietnam, Desert Storm-Gulf war, War on Terror) The Israel and Lebanon conflict will be the start of World War III. Which we can see that is in the process as we speak. Notice how Israel and Lebanon will be the cause of WW3? And that is the seventh war that Mary spoke about. God said "The end of days will start in the Middle East." Mary also said "There will be a catostrophic Tsunami that will kill hundreds of thousands of people before the end of days" -- The sun started spinning and it spread out this amazing rainbow of colors. This phenominal event was witnessed by over 70,000 people, including atheists and skeptics. Even the atheists were on their knees holding their hands out the sky as Mary appeared. It appeared as if the sun was slowly descending to earth, Pretty neat, huh? God said "The world shall end by fire and destruction" Well, it's nice to know that the world's most insane and idiotic person (Iranian president) has his hands on weapons of mass nuclear destruction and devastation. Biblical scholars, Experts, Historians and Israeli mathmeticians have found codes in the bible that are interesting, but also bone chilling. Here's what they have found - "Iran, Saddam, Fire, War, Destruction, Nuclear weapons, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, United States, Israel & Lebanon." Now I'm not saying anything is going to happen and neither is the bible. These are codes that were discovered by using Equidistant Letter Sequence, Also known as (ELS)
Two-thousand years ago, Jesus said "Watch for these signs and you will know the time draws near"
8-24-06 - Israel has bought two submarines from Germany that are nuclear capable. What do you think is going to happen? Well, I will tell you what's about to happen, Israel is ready to fight fire with fire.
8-25-2006 - Ahmadinejad said "I will wipe out half of Iran to vaporize Israel"
8-27-2006 - Well, it comes to no surprise that Iran has opened their first nuclear reactor. This spells trouble.
8-27-2006 - Iran has been testing missles
I will keep you guys posted on the end times breaking news as it developes.
Come Lord Jesus and destroy the world and lift us to your magnificant glory.

I have never liked speculation on this. What difference does it make? These events will take its course when the Lord wills it to be done. Until then, we must continue to believe in Christ, and accept him as the one and only way. If you are not doing that, I can then understand why the time of the world's demise concerns you.
