Where are you from? Try to find a no-kill shelter around you. Or put an ad on craigslist, maybe someone can give her a home. Good luck.

Why would you choose not to take your cat? That's pretty irresponsible of you. If it's a situation where you can't take then you should have worded it differently. Try calling your local Animal Defense League or Humane Society. Many cities also have other smaller shelters so check the Yellow Pages. You can try calling your local Petsmart or Petco. Different organizations adopt animals out through them so they may be able to get you in touch with them.

Look for shelters in your area that are "no kill" or "limited admission" shelters. You might also be able to find a "rescue" organization that is specific to your breed of cat. Sometimes these places will provide transport to come get your pet if you can't transport it yourself. Try a "Google.com" search for organizations in your area (or in the area to where you're going to move... then you'll have some place for her to go as soon as you get there.) Best of luck to you and your cat; and thank you for being responsible enough not to just dump the cat somewhere to fend for itself. The fact that you're TRYING to find a suitable placement for it says a lot about you.

put an ad in a paper or give her to a friend, relative. Most shelters do put then out if they are not adoptable. There are a few agencies that will keep them until they are placed. I doubt they are free though.

It will be very hard to find a place for her. There are so many unwanted cats waiting in shelters because of people like you who would abandon a creature who has spent all her life with you and it totally dependent on you, .

I hope your dining room table doesn't get scratched or anything when you move. That would truly be a tragedy!

would you leave behind your child? pets should be part of the family. you should take her with you, or find a suitable home for her. placing an ad in the paper may help.

next time you get a pet, consider having it for its whole life, rather than just dumping it out when you don't like it anymore. always remember it is a 15-20 year commitment when you get a pet!

How could you not take her? Don't you love her? Why did you get a cat if you don't want to keep her? I'm not trying to be mean. Find a no-kill shelter in your area or put an ad in the paper. Please make sure she is safe.

Contact your locals SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals)...most of those places will take in animals and put them up for adoption.

Call your local humane society, your vet, and start spreading the news about looking for a home through friends and family.

I agree with most here.

Don't commit to a pet if you can't give it a lifetime commitment.
