We observe that a ray of sunlight which enters through the window is the less clearly visible according as it is the purer and freer from specks, and the more of such specks and motes there are in the air, the brighter is the light to the eye. The reason is that it is not the light itself that is seen; the light is but the means whereby the other things that it strikes are seen, and then it is also seen itself, through its reflection in them; were it not for this, neither it nor they would have been seen. Thus if the ray of sunlight entered through the window of one room and passed out through another on the other side, traversing the room, and if it met nothing on the way, or if there were no specks in the air for it to strike, the room would have no more light than before, neither would the ray of light be visible. In fact, if we consider it carefully, there is more darkness where the ray is, since it absorbs and obscures any other light, and yet it is itself invisible, because, as we have said, there are no visible objects which it can strike.

I didn't include the source because I wanted people to think for themselves. I will include the source when I choose best answer. Of course, if you want to be a spoil sport I guess you could always google the quote.

Spiritually, I guess this can go in a lot of directions. The first one that came to my mind is that the Spirit of God is best seen by people's lives reflecting it.
Best wishes

"It is stated in Caitanya-caritamrta (Madhya 22.31):
krsna-surya-sama, maya haya andhakara
yahan krsna, tahan nahi mayara adhikara
"Godhead is light. Nescience is darkness. Where there is Godhead there is no nescience." This material world is full of darkness and ignorance of spiritual life, but by bhakti-yoga this ignorance is dissipated. "
SB 7.8.24, Purport
"Although the illumination of a lamp consists of innumerable rays of light undergoing constant creation, transformation and destruction, a person with illusory intelligence who sees the light for a moment will speak falsely, saying, "This is the light of the lamp." As one observes a flowing river, ever-new water passes by and goes far away, yet a foolish person, observing one point in the river, falsely states, "This is the water of the river." Similarly, although the material body of a human being is constantly undergoing transformation, those who are simply wasting their lives falsely think and say that each particular stage of the body is the person's real identity"
SB 11.22.45
"The division of gross time is calculated as follows: two atoms make one double atom, and three double atoms make one hexatom. This hexatom is visible in the sunshine which enters through the holes of a window screen. One can clearly see that the hexatom goes up towards the sky."

For God to be observed & experience Itself, It needs the existence of God's Light, matter/man/mirror and the reflection of this Light in matter, the Soul. Thereby God sees His image by seeing the Soul!!!
There exists a Holy Trinity of existence in the following groups of three!
LIGHT-1.Light Source, 2.Light rays, 3.Light reflection
GOD-1.Father, 2.Holy Spirit, 3.Son/Soul
PROCESS-1.Seer, 2.Seeing, 3.Seen
MAN-1.Soul, 2.Mind, 3.Body

1) If we think of God as the light and the specks of dust as all other beings, we see that God is only perceived as we see him reflect off of other beings.
2) Just as different specks of dust may reflect the light differently, we see a different manifestation of God as he interacts with each being.
3) Without the light that is God, everything is a dark void; only with God is anything apparent, and only with God do we see the beings in the Universe. This is manifestation, or in a sense, creation.
So: beings are only perceived because of God, thus in a sense they are created by God, and God is only perceived because of beings.
Quite illustrative of our relationship, huh?

Jesus shines His light on the people of the earth, those who accept it radiate that light and reveal the source, if none was to accept Jesus, the light would not be seen and we would continue in darkness.

I like this. It gets you thinking who really is visible. Cool!
The answer to your question is " we are all blind to the world and the one who would see is the one who believes in the word of God." I'm not to much in the bible thing. But I strongly believe in God, he is our creator and our savior. If you are spiritually involved with God, then, I believe you will have his gifts that will let you see the good and the bad.
