While listening to a motivational tape, it said to make a like of my God given talents and use them to better serve God.
When I did this I wrote down,Parenting, Humor, Writing, Cynicism and Public Speaking.
Can my cynicism for most things in life (which might be considered negative by some some since I notice BS more often then most) be considered a gift from God?

I've wondered the same thing (about me, not about you).

I think it's a twist on a God-given talent. Maybe you're a healthy skeptic, and tired of all the gullible people in the world.

I wonder if many prophets are cynical. There was certainly sarcasm in the Bible, from Paul, Jesus and other prophets.

A modern cynic typically has a highly contemptuous attitude towards social norms, especially those which serve more of a ritualistic purpose than a practical one, and will tend to dismiss a substantial proportion of popular beliefs, conventional morality and accepted wisdom as irrelevant or obsolete nonsense. Many cynics tend to frown upon the way the world thinks, however, and wish it could be changed. They want to see the world for how it truly is rather than delude themselves.

Despite the negative portrayal of cynics, some would argue that such people simply “refuse to look through rose-colored glasses” and do not fear to demolish popular beliefs no matter how sacred society considers such alleged misconceptions. Cynics themselves tend to take this view, regarding themselves as enlightened free thinkers, and their critics as deluded social pretenders who “bury their heads in the sand.” However, an excess of cynicism in an individual can cause social or psychological difficulties when cynics see themselves as depersonalized and self-serving inhabitants of a meaningless, facetious, and shallow world. If you are cynic on certain level, I guess it is ok to see the things as they are in the world.

Yes, God or nature created all types of people, it really takes all kinds to make the world work. We cynics have to balance those silly optimists. I'll have a link to a good article I read this morning in a minute.

Go pessimists!

Cynicism is not from God. He does not deal in negatives like that. He is a positive person.

I suppose critical thinking is, but using that critical thinking to be rude, probably not.
