I assume the curls r from a perm. If yes then u need 2 go 2 a salon & they can comb a perm through the curl that's left. This won't cost as much as a regular perm service b/c it doesn't take as long. Be sure 2 buy pro products while ur there 2 care for ur chemically treated hair. Great products = great hair!

ALL perms are alike: they don't last forever. Perms to make your hair curly don't last forever, and neither do perms that make your hair straight.

Getting a perm to straighten your hair is convenient, but on naturally curly hair, they don't last long. Trust me. I had really bad chemical burns too. I personally suggest a hot iron instead. I know you said you don't want to have to hot iron your hair every day, but that is the best way to go. Be sure to put some pomade or a light, light conditioner on the tips of your hair before you use the hot iron, and this may help prevent breakage.

it wont be permanent, its grows and you get wavy roots. i think it would cost like the price of a perm, as that what it is permed straight. I have thick curly hair, but you wouldnt think it, with good hair products to keep the hair healthy and a layered cut, and my ghd straightners, which only takes seconds to run over my hair, as they very hot. also a heat protector spray, my hair is dead straight, and you dont need to do it every day, after you wash it, then maybe a quick straighten the next day too. if you perm it its just going to dry out. P.S you can get ghd products off internet (its stands for good hair day)

Please go to a hair stylist that works on ' ethnic hair' I am unaware of your ethnic backround, but I am guessing that you are some % of black or other than caucasion. You can have your hair relaxed with a gentle chemical straightener for under $ 50, done in the salon, or buy a 'kit' at your local discount department store (walmart) or beauty supply for under $10, even for the 'good kind' I would try: OPTIMUM HAIR RELAXER/PERM
good luck, for your kind of hair, you'll probably need to repeat every two months or so.. . . .

Theres no such thing as getting your hair permanently straightened only once. Once you have it done, you'll have to keep doing it like every few weeks or months depending on your hair type. I perm my own hair every four weeks. why don't you find a friend who perms hair and ask her to do one for you at home. It's only five bucks to buy a perm.

What is the length of your hair? Which country do you live in? What do you think if having an Ironic Ice Rebonding? Maybe you can try the neighbourhood salon as their price are usually reasonable cos the rental of the place they work is much cheaper. If you are living in SG, we can meet or lead you to the salon i always go for the rebonding of my hair.

Why don't you just get a hot iron and straighten because you may want your curls back later?
