Hmm. "Leaf unfolding" is a pretty good description of my transition from belief to unbelief.
However, there was a "leap of faith" involved as well. I came to realize that there is no evidence in favor of belief, and that's the more difficult half of the kind of "leap of faith" required to move to deep religious faith (the easier half being coming to believe in God).

I walked away from money and people so that took a leap of faith but I am a leaf unfolding. Although the light was turned on suddenly for me, every day I learn more and everyday he works the old person out and more of the new comes in.

I think the leaf is probably more accurate, there have been occasional little leaps (which felt huge at the time) about various principles, but I think it's over-all been a slow, life-long process.

I call it more of a Transendental Enlightenment from a faith that has no believable evidence to a study that saves my life from time to time.
Ie: from Christianity to my current belief of the Control of Nature.

A leaf continually unfolding, as we are all constantly growing & evolving from one day to the next.
My belief involves spirituality without organized religion. My yoga & meditation practices are assisting with the uncurling and swirling leaf. *smile*
Namaste. :)

a leap of faith.---I remember VERY well when the Holy Spirit was nudging me to walk the aisle, that evening at church. It was like my heart knew what to do, but my flesh was trying to keep me from walking the aisle. But when I asked Jesus into my heart, forgiving me of all my sins, I cried and cried , with happiness because burdens were ABSOLUTELY LIFTED OFF MY CHEST!!!

There are years since I started to believe, I thank God for everything even if sometimes I cried ans asked "Why me?" I start every day with a prayer, every day is a new beginning.

It is more like journey to me: slowly and bumpy in the beginning, pleasant and picturesque now.
