When do you think immigration bill will pass or fail? and do you think we need immigrants?

I personally think we need immigrants, but wish to know other's opinion

I think the immigration bill will PASS around April, 07.
We need legal and illegal immigrants! How can we deport 12,000,000 illegal immigrants?! Who's gonna clean the building, who's gonna do the dishes, and who's gonna work on farm. Besides WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE IN THEIR SHOES AND POOR, I am 100% sure that you'll do exactly the same thing they're doing
I think the bill will pass because we don't want to put american economy in a jeapordy.Also the most big businesses will fail or go overseas because noone else will work for the low wage! If big businesses fail, OUR LIFE WILL BE EVEN HARDER and we'll have to work ourselves to death just to survive like in some countries because of their bad economy! We got where we are because of immigrants!!
But I think,
there will be some condition.
-no past criminal record(good people)
-pay back all taxes
-pay some certain amount of money for their breaking law
-have been living in the states for reasonably long time
-make them legal but wait for their citizenship for some time to check them.
After they qualify for these conditions we should make them residence and let them get education if they wish and they also need to learn ENGLISH language.
I think we just need to give opportunity to some of these illegal immigrants! because we are the land of Opportunity!!!!

Any immigration bill will give the immigrants clarity about their future. We need to know what's next so we can plan our lives. Many of us have put their lives and careers on "pause" until we are legalized. It's much better to keep the immigrants already here than kick them out and get new ones, who have no clue about US society and culture. I mean, why would you wanna have Green Card lottery(the only legal way to come as an immigrant!!!) if the chances are smaller than winning the Powerball and if people who come that way are uneducated, speak no English, have not contributed to US system in ANY way! They get a FREE PASS without deserving it, while we work hard for many years, pay taxes, buy US goods and do no harm(most of us) and still no papers. It's VERY UNFAIR! I'm stayig until I get what I've worked for so many years.
I expect a bill to be passed February -May 2007. US cannot ignore 10.5 million people who just want to work here. There needs to be a wall built to regulate things more efficiently.

The country, known as the United States, was founded on immigration, so yes immigrants are needed. I do not believe in an open door policy, but it is nice to have other cultures come here, as long as they are legal not illiegal. As for the immigration bill, I am not sure. I just wish everyone in Washington would get the their hands out the special interest groups pockets.

The immigration bill were certainly never pass the senate in its present form. This country will built on immigrants who have come here and respected its laws and dedicated themselves to making this a great nation. Illegals however are showing their contempt for our laws, thus they need to go back to where ever they came from.

I think the immigration bill might pass but I think we need immigrants but they have to come over like everyone else from different countries. Not just hopping over the border. Im not against immigrats coming over but I am against them not working living off of wellfare and getting on medicaid when i work a full time job to feed my family and I dont get any help from the government.

This country is founded by immigrants and we will always need new immigrants and should welcome them to the American dream.

However, you need to distinguish this from criminals that come here by breaking the law. Illegal Aliens do not even deserve to be called illegal immigrants because they disrespect our laws and therefore disrespect the very society that they claim to want to be a part of.

Yes, we need LEGAL immigrants.. People who wish to come here and work and pay their taxes, and spend their money, and help the country grow..
we don't need ILLEGALs to come and take jobs and expect handouts just because they are here..
