I have really lower back pain. I've been to the doctor and he prescribed Percocet. I don't feel that the pain is that bad to keep taking the percocet and the ibuprofen has been working just fine. Is 600 mg 1 or 2 times a day too much?

I can understand you not wanting to take percocet.
Ibuprofen has side effect much like aspirin, especially since it thins the blood.
If you are planning to take it for an extended time period, you should watch for the symptoms in the link below.
The most serious can be sudden gastric or intestinal bleeding.
I have taken it in the past in 400 mg doses and found that I only needed it twice per day for about a week for pain similar to yours.

That depends on if you are taking any medications that say do not take with aspirin. If you are you should not take any ibuprofen. 600mg 1 or2 times a day is OK but always take with food.

try not to get hooked on it.
I take 800 mg of motrin for pain, at least 8 hrs apart. but if i need something in between i take up to 400 mg of tynole.

not at all.many people take it 4 times a day.i would advise you take it with food though.it can cause stomach problems.if you take it for long periods of time you want to get the advice of a physician so certain blood tests can be done.

Shouldn't be too bad for an adult
Children should have a smaller dose based on their weight.
Usual adult dosage is 200mg-400mg 3 times a day.

for 5 to 6 days its OK
but if u use it for 2- 3 months then u will have problems
it can cause stomach ulcers ,kidney failure

no its not too much, i had a px for 800mg that i took 3 times a day, just make sure you have something in your stomach when you take them, can cause ulcers, bleeding or just a sour stomach if its empty all the time
