Are the police really as stretched as they claim or simply Miss-managed.?

We read in the news again today that yet another stabbing has taken place, with the police response being again answered with " we do not have the man power to deal with all enquiries" and have to prioritise every call.I simply recall being stopped by 2, yes 2 officers who were standing on a street corner in Feltham, Middlesex a few months back stopping drivers who were not wearing seat belts. I openly admit I was in the wrong by not having my seat belt fastened ( although I was just exiting a car park. ) However I must say I am normally meticules regarding seat belts as I have 2 young children and insist they must wear belts in the car. I paid the £30 fixed penalty but wonder how a "stretched" police force can afford to deploy 2 officers on such a menial assignment. Has anyone else noticed such a waste of police man-power, while serious crimes are being committed all around us.

They are not recruiting enough new bobbies, They refuse the applications and then a week later invite the applicants to join the community officers...doing the same job for less money.
However if you tell them you are gay your IN.......
Of course traffic offences are an easy target easy money for the coffers. We are heading down a slippery slope to Anarchy in the Uk. and I'm serious.

Perhaps we should stop putting our tax dollars there and the jails and put the tax dollars in the schools and teach people better than to kill and steal?

Honestly, the first thing in the budget to be cut is education. The first thing to be increased in a budget is for fire and police services.

As I elaborate, if we as a community allow parents to slap their bad children, and be strict as we need to be (because no one knows a child better than a parent) and allow teachers to teach "old school" our children will come out alot better. Crime has increased because there are HUGE cracks in our education system.

As I offer another iteration- Police here in America do the same damn thing. They'll ticket me for being 1 week late on renewing my plate tags, but they won't bust the crack house 3 doors away. Why? Cause they are big, giant PU$$ies!

They are to busy handing out petty charges to decent people, They are scared of real criminals, if a house breaking takes place they wait till they are sure the criminal has left before arriving, they are a bunch of naffs.
