I use them. Raw foods contain digestive enzymes needed but you destroy them by cooking foods. See this site for more on advantages of raw foods, good source of digestive enzymes and info on delicious all raw food bars.

Hey symorebroomwad,

Not currently, but eat Yogurt this should help. I have used some, and they did seem to help. It is difficult to prove, but the Olive Leave extract seemed to help my metobolic rate. I did not take this alone, I read 'the vitimin bible', and took some with a combination of the three classes of enzymes.

"Digestive enzymes—also called pancreatic enzymes—include three classes of enzymes: proteolytic enzymes needed to digest protein, lipases needed to digest fat, and amylases needed to digest carbohydrates. In several conditions that cause malabsorption, such as pancreatic insufficiency and cystic fibrosis, doctors sometimes prescribe digestive enzymes to improve absorption of food. Nutritionally oriented doctors often tell people to try using pancreatic enzymes with meals when they have symptoms of indigestion that cannot be attributed to a specific cause."

"Digestive enzymes are produced regularly by the pancreas in all animals including humans. They occur in raw food and by some microorganisms. Thus they are everywhere in nature and are in our bodies all the time. They are necessary for life. Taking enzymes only adds to what should be there anyway."

"Enzymes have very specific mechanisms. Many are well known and characterized. Each enzymes has a very particular job. Enzymes work according to ordinary biochemical properties and are not living organisms complete with free will and instincts. Because of this, enzymes have far fewer side-effects and unknown possible reactions than other compounds, supplements, or medications. This feature makes them extremely safe."

I've been using Rexall brand. They work very well and I have had no noticeable side effects after a couple years of taking them.
I get them at Walmart which is the only place I get supplements from.
Hope this helps and have a great day!!!
