should the US use its nuclear arsenal to Vaporize Iran and all its inhabitants? Would the threat of assured distruction deter the fanatic Islamic fascists or will it encourage them to become a nation of martyrs?

Carpet bombing with conventional weopons usually leaves the military pretty much intact while killing only civilians. Wouldn't it be better to just drop a N-bomb on Teharan just to make the piont?

We don' have to know where a terrorist bomb came from just so the Iranians know if they let it happen we will take out one of their major cities.

A weapon unused is a useless weapon. Inherent in the existence of nukes in are arsenal is the will to use them against our enemies, in defense of ourselves or our allies.
We should absolutely vaporize every single possible inch of Iran, under such a circumstance. The only problem is that Iran in very mountainous, so we would need smaller and more accurate bombs.
Unfortunately, stupid liberals don;t want it and will filibuster any attempt to research smaller and more accurate nukes.

A few points against the idea of an attack:
1) A nuclear strike against Iran would have to be an expression of U.S. nuclear policy. Since the current U.S. policy is to use nukes only defensively, such a strike would probably leave us trying to explain to every other nuclear power that we won't do the same thing to them, so please don't vaporize us.
2) Iran's presumed nuclear capacity may be a fiction developed by its intelligence service to frighten Israel. It tried a similar tactic on the Iraqis at the start of the Iran-Iraq war.
3) Bombs without a delivery system are a threat to no one, and according to the best of our intel,' Iran does not have one. We are not in danger of large-scale nuclear attacks

If that happens, we would definitely strike Iran. I don't think we would use nuclear weapons though. I think at that point we would literally annex Iran and use that as our base of operations in the Middle East.
I personally believe that Israel is poised to strike Iran right now, as they did in 1993. Just enough to wipe out the nuclear program. We're 2 days from the UN deadline....let's wait and see.

Yes, I agree that the USA would probably destroy Iran. If we are nuked by a terrorist organization by a weapon smuggled into the country we will have a difficult time deciding where it came from. That's at the present time. If we had a libtard president, he/she may want to get permission from the UN.

Iran will never use a nuclear weapon against the US. Nukes are purely defensive weapons used only as a last-case scenario -- they are deterrents to prevent a US attack against Iran. Iran is also not a nation of fanaitc Islamic fascists -- in fact, the US is far more fascist than Iran. As you know, Iran nationalized its petrol industry, contrary to one of the tenets of fascism that the US holds dear -- corporatism.

I think it would depend on how and when it was used. If it could be traced to Iran (and only Iran) and the damage was significant, perhaps. But I feel that the decision would have to be made very carefully.
If nukes were used carelessly by either side, I think that side would lose support. besides China and Russia would have egg on their face and would all likely lose big time, if it happened. (Since they have been supporting a diplomatic solution)

We don't need nuclear weapons to vaporize that rathole of a country. Carpet bombing will do just fine.

Isreal would take out Iran first. Of all the middle east, i simply do not want to ever have to fight israel...they believe in "a Life for and eye" rather than "an eye for an eye"

While we were busy appointing a congressional investigation to ascertain who the culprit was, Israel would nuke those Iranians into a deep smoking crater of Islamic martyrs.
Sometimes you have to admire the guts of those Jews...
