I'm thinking of joining a RCIA course. Does anyone have any personal experience of this? Only sensible answers please!

I have been the sponsor for several people. It seems to matter very much who the people involved are at any given point. Like everything else in life the people have the biggest impact and you get out of it what you put into it. Find a good sponsor, someone with the time to help you and pray with you. You can't do much about the other people, but you can look for a good sponsor.

It will be a good time in your life but some people find friends from their prior religion give them the cold shoulder. You may need to rebuild some bridges if you have friends who feel betrayed by your choices.

Pray, listen in the liturgy and I suggest volunteering to do some task that needs done in the parish.

I was born and raised Catholic, so I took CCD classes when I was younger. I did attend a few RCIA classes last year, so that I could learn a little more about Catholicism. There's always something to learn.
