Only if that's what you tolerate. Some people are bothered by very cold drinks while exercising and others are not. Lukewarm beverages are nauseating to some people as well.
If heat is an issue, cold drinks make sense if tolerated. The important thing is to drink enough water and to replace electrolytes when sweating, Sports drinks like Gatorade can be useful, but I suggest half water and half sports drink.
It is also a good idea to drink a about a pint of water half an hour before exercising.

Actually, room temperature water is better than very cold OR warm water. And this is true when you are not exercising.

I can say from my experience as a seismic crewman that we were not allowed to have ice water, as it could cause shock to the system due to cooling the blood vessels of the stomach too quickly, contracting them and forcing blood elsewhere too quickly.This shock could cause "instant death", or simply put, heart attack or failure.So to answer your question, I'd say with a degree of certainty that luke warm or room temperature water would be best.

i have heard that lukewarm water is better absorbed. but i would think drinking cold water would definitely cool your system faster.

yeah its absolutely treu bco my frnd used to drink only luke warm water every morning and she had losen her many kg's cos she really belief that it really water really effects ur body and me too! beileve that and i have even sawn her so yepzz its true dear.

yes, for one, cold water causes cramps and the cold water also bloates your stomach. warm is better for you.

i belive it takes ur body alot more work to warm up the cold watter hich makes ur matabolizum work harder and faster
