If you are an 'underage driver' then you should NOT be driving, 'cause you are 'under age' so you will NOT get any insurance. If you still drive and are caught, be prepared to NOT be allowed to drive again for quite a few years.

About twice what it costs of overage drivers...........

It's way expensive. It will depend on your state. I assume you will be getting added on to your parents policy? I know my girl friends insurance costs went up 200% when she added her 16 year old daughter on the policy.

Call around. Check for discounts for taking additional drivers classes. Here, you can even get a discount for a good grade average in school.

Good luck to you.

Go to www.geico.com or www.progressive.com for a rate quote. It varies by state and other circumstances. The fact that you're underage will make is very expensive. I guess gender and age bias is ok in the insurance business :-)

It depends on a number of factors including who you buy the insurance from, what kind of car you will be driving, if your family has other policies with that company, if you get good grades you can get a discount.
Usually, young drivers don't have seperate policies, they are just added to their parents existing coverage.
