We just returned from the doctor, and I took my 3 year old daughter because she has a frequent urge to urinate. I assumed he would say a urinary tract infection, but he said it is the start of a yeast infection. Can that cause frequent urination?

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

yep. In a child that young it might. The sensation is the same as feeling the need to pee, especially since she's only just learned the concept.

Usually redness, itchiness, soreness... those sorts of things are symptoms.

Even little boys can get yeast infections, its not always in the vaginal region, and warm moist spot around the genitals can get infected.

Cut her sugar intake down, especially if she's been taking, or frequently takes antibiotics. Make sure she eats enough yogurt.

Yes it can cause frequent urination. The symptoms are the same as an adult with a yeast infection, itching, burning, discharge, bumps. It's all the same, however, usually in kids they can't always tell you what's wrong, so chances are, she's had it awhile already.

Fun things. Children learn and develop better when they feel safe and relaxed and are doing enjoyable activities rather than boring ones. Activities such as: Making playdough together. Look for a recipie online, and get the children to have turns adding the ingredients to the bowl. You do the hot water obviously. Then you can all play with it. Make shapes, names out of the dough etc

yes any type of urine infection means frequent qurine or no urine at all. make her drink water every half an hour and tell her not to hold in .sometimes children hates to go to the loo when they are in school. tell her not to hold it in. also if she is on antibiotics, then give her sugery drinks. antibiotics has an effect on the child, her suger level might go down. please dont cut back on her sugery food. instead treat her to juices, chocolate more often and lots of water, no fizzy drinks.

Yes, they can't distinguish the burny itchy feeling from the uh oh I gotta potty feeling. Too long in a wet bathing suit or a reaction to a bubblebath can cause it in a young girl.
