I work with infants with special needs, and I have a couple of kids that are slow to develop because their mom smoked pot while pregnant. They receive therapy and should hopefully catch up by the time they are three. Other issue that is very common is hyperactivity. It's best to just avoid smoking pot alltogether. There is no reason to have your child born with this addiction, and why would you even take the chance of something going wrong with your baby. Also, if the baby is having obvious withdrawls in the hospital, thye will do a drug test on the baby and then will call social services who will take the baby until you have completed a drug rehab. I have a 13 month old that I work with where this happened and her mom only get's to see her one time a week. She's getting her back next month but she had to miss out on over a year of her life because getting hgh when she was pregnant was a priority to her.

Smoking pot is like smoking anything really. The smoke that is taken into your lungs reduces the amount of oxygen that your body receives. Because the oxygen in your blood inevitably goes to your unborn child, they too are receiving less oxygen.

Though it can slow the rate of growth there are no known studies to prove that smoking pot actually causes birth defects.

My daughter used to be born with full head of hair, and by no means lost any. I cut about an 1.5 off when she used to be 12 months historic, which left it simply quite below her shoulders. Now at 19 months it's down to the core of her again. We do maintain trimming it although, considering different elements started growing in an additional instances, so it's layery (not a phrase, i do know), but backwards just about. It can be nearly even, however even now she has more coming in on the around the outside. Truthfully, i have been placing her hair in a pony tail considering that she was once four months historical, and i'm variety of sick of doing it day-to-day. However it's to the factor now that I have got to do it, or it can be in her eyes, or she's eating. And now that the summer season is here, striking sunblock on is super affliction when you consider that it gets all in her hair. Grass is continuously greener, lol!

I smoked ALOT of pot while I was pregnant. I mean alot!!! My son (now 3) came out perfect and now he is sooooo smart. Although, when I had the baby, he had it in his system and was taken into protective custody for 4 months before I got him back. I see no reason why it would affect the baby, but stop before you get far enough along that it is out of it's system.

I don't know but depending on what kind of doctor you have you may get in trouble for it. My cousins doctor did drug tests at every visit, he was also my doctor and we were pregnant at the same time, they took urine samples at every visit and apparently at the first couple of visits he tested all his patients and if he knew you weren't on drugs I guess he stopped after a while cause one day he said to me, "I know your cousin is doing some drugs, I haven't found that you are yet, Do I need to keep testing you or are you clean?" I told him I didn't do any and said ok but he told my cousin if he tested her one more time and any type of drug showed up he would report her. I guess nothing showed up the next time because he never reported her but when her baby was six months old he got taken from her for pot. Someone else reported her, they tested her and took her kids. So if you choose to do that good luck with keeping your baby, whether he/she is has defects or not.

My sister and a couple other friends smoked pot throughout their pregnancies. Their children are beautiful and healthy. Infact my nephew is even a little advanced. I know there are bad risks but not all children get hurt from it. They had to do urine samples too, every doctors office does that. But they don't test for drugs, at least they didn't in our area.

I have known several people who have smoked thru out their pregnancies and they had beautiful healthy children. I had one friend who swears that smoking helped her with the morning sickness. Do watch out some doctors do drug tests at each doctor visit.

I can honestly tell you that I smoked on occasion(maybe 4 times thru out my pregnancy) and my child was born very healthy, no problems(he has never been sick), very smart!!!!

No one here can tell you what to do so if you feel it is ok, then I am not going to tell you what to do.
