Get Norton System Works Pro 2006. It includes Virus protection, and Utilities that you can use to keep your computer Tuned Up running fast and error free. You will receive automatic updates of Virus Signatures for one year. The Utilities can be used even after the year is up. Right now, several retailers are offering a package deal that includes the System Works and Firewall FREE after rebates. It is a very good CD to own, safe and easy to use. If you just want Anti Virus freeware, download and install AVAST. Be sure to register and obtain your user key or the program will not work.

Norton or McAfee are well known, but after about a year or so you will have to pay for updates. If it were me, I'd just download free versions of either AVG or AVAST anti-virus programs and use one of those. I have a slight preference for AVAST, but it's up to you.

No one anti-virus software is universal. Good ones are McAfee, Norton, and to protect on the fly, Zonealarm

Norton Internet Security. It does full system scans and you can schedule the scans Daily, Weekly, or Montly. Right down to the hour.

I don't like Norton nearly as much as Trend PC-Cillin Security Suite, and I had so much trouble with MacAfee, I won't touch it.

Trend's the best. the others are chumps
