Well first get Brandon away from his mom, find him some place that he feels safe to stay. Next go with him and talk to a councilor or clergy. He is being abused and he really needs you support and if he just wants you to listen as he vents his frustrations it will help him. You may also want to get him check out by a doctor but they are bound by law to report the abuse to the police. Just let Brandon know that you will be there for him every step of the way will help to take the necessary steps to handle this situation. God bless and Good luck

If he is younger than 18 years old, he needs to report his mother to the appropriate authorities where social services and the law can intervene. If he is about the age of 18, the law can't do anything for him. He can and really should move out.

Tell to your boyfriend to get a job and move out, tell him to do things on his own. If he is not an adult than he can always report to the police. Family violence is not legal.

Tell your guy to go to the gym and develop some more courage as a man ought to. I am NOT SUGGESTING THAT HE SHOULD HIT HIS MOM, but he should develop enough courage to assert his appropriate rights and put his mother in her rightful place.

Encourage him to talk to a trusted adult about it. Maybe someone out of the family such as a minister or school counselor.
All you can really do is be a good listener when he needs to talk, but be SURE you keep it to yourself. It is his decision who he wants to know about it.
