I believe it does. And I'm not sure how to define it... ppl say it has Intelligence, but in order to have that kind of intelligence, it would have to have a physical brain... which I don't believe it does. I can say it's some form of "energy"... but I guess that sounds a lot like new age paganism fluffy "it's all good" BS. I have yet to find a good enough definition (even for myself). But the reason I believe it's there is due to certain experiences I have had. Nothing miraculous like speaking in tongues (which I don't believe to be miraculous at all... babies do that all the time). I didn't experience it while praying, which I haven't done in yrs anyway... or on drugs or alcohol, so I can't blame that stuff either.
Geez, it would take me forever to tell you all of the things it isn't, but I couldn't give you a good enough definition of what it IS... simply because I haven't found words that would come even close to explaining it.
Sorry, but that's the best answer I can give you at this point.

Higher power to me means something or someone that cannot be touched or harmed in any way. You can call it a person or a stone, it doesn't matter. We cannot even understand the concept of the higher power because we are mortal people.
All I have to do is look out my window to know that it exists. It amazes me when people do not believe in God. We are all here for a reason on this earth and I believe there is "human type" higher power rather than a power beam of some sort.
You know what? If all this talk of higher power, God vs. ape, anostics vs. atheists and religion vs. religion, etc. etc. I don't care who is right or wrong. I am happy in my space of spiritual feelings at this time. I define my higher power as peace within myself and my soul. You don't get that by "wanting" it or saying you have it. It's a feeling you cannot describe.
I read some of the other answers. If you are waiting for proof you will never find it because you can't see it............

I know about highest power. i.e. GOD.
Why dont you think about sun, and moon...how they are following the same path from billions of years.
Have you ever thought that why every day is of 24 hours and every year has 365 days. If this was haphazard system resultant of an accident, the day’s length would have been variant and the years length as well.
Why are days and nights in sequence, why does not it happen that some day night precedes day.
Have you ever thought of clouds if they were not there all the population would have been saturated around oceans and seas. Have you ever though that even if there were clouds but no breezing wind the clouds would have been useless.
Do you know that continuous and dangerous explosions continue to happen on sun however our earth is protected by a layer that prevents the energy released from those to enter our atmosphere.
Think and see with open eyes you will find more evidences that support the point of view that there is some highest power that has made all this.

Well I guess it depends on two things. Higher than what, and how much higher?
Assuming you mean something more powerful than a person, then I believe that the only thing more powerful than a person is a group of people, or a society. That's why I choose to act in the best interests of that society, not for any expectation of a reward in the afterlife, but to make this life a little better.
But if you mean an omnipotent being, then no, I don't think one exists. There's no proof and it's not the sort of thing I'm prepared to just believe.

If there is a God, and a Heaven, and a Hell, why would God create us, knowing that we'd all sin, and then punish us with eternal damnation? Why does religion have to be such a mystery? Why can't he show himself to everyone, and then let us decide to follow Him or not? I'm supposed to follow a book, written 2000 years ago, by humans, (all of which were sinners), and blindly believe everything? And if I only live 40, 50, or 60 years, why would I be punished for eternity? How much bad can I do in said amount of time, that I would be punished forever? Is that fair? Is God sadistic? Does he like torturing souls? If a 18 year old kid dies, without being baptised (catholic), or accepting Jesus as his personal saviour (baptist), or whatever stipulation a certain religion says is necessary, why would he burn forever? I don't get it. I was raised Catholic, but haven't been to church in quite awhile. I would like to believe in life after death, but it's getting harder every day. If there is a God, where did He come from? Everything we know has a beginning and an end. How'd He begin? Did he make himself?

Well, I wish to say a few words about "higher power".
I have absolutely no pragmatical proof about a "higher power". I only believe that there cannot only be humans on Earth in the whole Universe. I only trust cosmologists in this field (I don't trsut any data about ufo's and so on).
"Higher Power" doesn't necessarily mean "deity".
We humans on Earth have limited "powers", so we can easily imagine "something" more "powerful" than we are.
I have no pragmatical proof about this, but I believe that there are some stuff "more powerful" than I am.
- but I don't call this "deity", and I don't "worship" such a stuff -
I simply acknowledge the fact that I am not almighty: so I don't see why I wouldn't consider there may be something "more powerful somewhere else".
- I don't trust religions & spirituality -

A higher power is something greater than you. The government is one such thing.
My argument for a higher power is as follows:
You may have noticed that nature is based on patterns. There are great things and small things, but they share characteristics that allow us to group them, size notwithstanding.
We as humans are arguably the greatest thing on this planet. We have complex languages and cultures, astounding abilities through technology, and so on. Compare that to the bacterium, which is quite small and powerless by contrast.
But there are smaller things than the bacterium, though not necessarily living. Molecules and such.
Now, what is there to stop the existence of something greater than Man?
The only possible cap to this sort of scale would be something infinitely great, powerful, etc. Guess who meets this description?

I believe there is a Higher Power that transcends gender and consciousness as we know it - I usually refer to it as "The Higher Power", "Deity", or "Universal Energy". I feel that it is an energy that permeates the universe and everything in it, as opposed to a sentient, omniscient, omnipotent Being that is sitting somewhere watching us all. The similarities between various world pantheons in the types of Gods and Goddesses (Love, War, Fertility, Home, Death, etc.) leads me to believe that the various Gods and Goddesses of the various religions are all aspects of the same Higher Power, "broken down" by man into something that we can relate to, and to help deal with whatever needs dealing with at that point.

As there is no evidence whatsoever for a 'higher power' then answer has to be no. Of course it may be that a 'higher power' does exist but in that case you can be certain that the 'higher power' has no interest or involvement in human affairs.
