A friend told me that someone told her that she shouldn't be looking for men on Match.com because she's not willing to sleep with someone until she's in a committed relationship. He told her that if she had put that on her profile no one would have contacted her. Do most men assume that women they meet on-line will have sex with them right away. Is that mainly what most men are looking for when they go to on-line dating sites? Just curious.

I've read that women frequent on-line dating services because they want to sleep with a man, any man (as long as he's not a perv) right this instant.

Nope not at all. The only thing I assume is you can't assume. Now on the other hand I have problems with a lot of men assuming that if I'm just being friendly that I'm interested in them. I guess it goes both ways. Add: Hmm reading some of the other comments part of your problem might be that you've developed a reputation. If it's widely known that you'll only make friends with a woman if you can sleep with her, then that explains why she would be acting the way she is. I have a couple of male friends like that, and I avoid them if I don't feel in the mood for getting pestered for "favours".

there are lots of perverts out there. and also lots of people who aren't people at all, they are like programs or officers that pose as people in order to catch child molesters. but the good news is there are some that are genuine and looking for a relationship. they are not desperate lonely or weird they just may be have had bad luck or are not as outgoing as some people. i am one and i don't see myself as that bad of a person and most that know me feel the same way.
