I feel a lot safer fighting them there and not here.
About the British, I think that they are outstanding. All of the ones that I have worked with in the military are gentlemen to be respected. As an American, I would take a British officer over all other countries (except America) any day of the week and twice on Sundays!
Support your troops and God Save the Queen!

I feel no more nor less than before the so-called war on terror began. In the UK we've been subjected to terror attacks since the early 1970s because of the situation in Northern Ireland. The British military in Iraq and Afghanistan are doing a professional job in difficult circumstances. I do think, however, that it is time to withdraw our forces and to pursue a more independent foreign policy.

The only thing positive about this alleged war on terror, and I mean the ONLY thing is that because it has lasted so long, there are more people now willing to speak up and take notice of the wrongs that were there when it all began. When the war began, there were few that would pay any attention or voice their opinion about it. Most people just went about their daily lives as if this war had no direct affect on them. Now more people are aware of how war, in any country, affects us all.
Other than that, nothing more has been achieved except for more lives lost than there probably would have been without a war. And I mean this for all sides involved.

I do not think the world is further on if anything it is worse off, I even feel scared to go to the shopping centre in the city in case it gets bombed or some thing, I definitely do not feel safer!! My son wants to join the British army when he is older but what would he be fighting for, not our country or anything we stand for!

its a nonsense, terrorism or freedom fighting has always been here and always will be , america was founded by using terrorism with the civil war so explain that george dubya !!!
i dont feel safer now but its the tyrannical governments like UK and USA that bother me (im from the uk by the way ).
im sure the majority of british forces want to do good but as long as there are certain factions torturing people and as long as we (the UK ) are allied to america we will be a target

I certainly don't feel any safer, in fact I would say there is more chance of being killed by terrorists now than there was before. As for the British Forces, they are doing the job they joined up to do and doing it to the best of their ability with inadequate equipment.

I think it's legitimate to want to fight terror (no one should be allowed to get their way by means of killing innocent people) but fighting terror with terror doesn't make any sense either.
I don't feel any safer at all. And I have respect for the British forces, and I think it's a shame that they're fighting for this cause.

Would feel safer if the government closed the flood gates to all immigrants, especially muslims, seems muslims are the only ones who have freedom of speech in this country, they move here and live as westeners but insist on bad mouthing everything about us and becoming very anti british... Army is only doing what they are told to do and under the circumstances they are doing a fantastic job..

It is a fruitless exercise. Killing innocent people in countries that harbour terrorists just makes for more terrorists. No matter how much I dislike the present government, should another country invade the UK and impose its style of government on us I would join the resistance too - I suppose that would make me a terrorist in the eyes of the invader.

I feel safe anyway. The British Forces are just following orders. Terrorists just find a new pack leader when we catch the old one.
