e-books, e-music, New York Times and Times of London back to year zero in PDF page format, major newspapers indexes and article downloads.
I subscribe to several university libraries which give me access to professional digital databases for articles, directories, poems, encyclopedias, laws and cases. For some of these I have to visit the libraries -- but mostly I can work from home now.
And with hard drive space so cheap, I keep everything I download forever, and often re-use it.
US and UK libraries are way ahead on this. I was greatly surprised and disappointed to find that Canadian libraries are out of the loop; or at least the Montréal Public Library and other Québec libraries are. Meanwhile, the French are steaming ahead: the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (like the Library of Congress and the British Library) offers incredible resources online, free to everybody.

When I was little I use to go to the library and check out these little kid books that I was in love with. I use to go there so much! I take advantage of their copier. I have never checked out a video, or used their computers. Well, I used their computers with a book locater program thing to find a book I needed for school but thats it. I use the library for school from time to time, and for my own interests, but I dont read many books, so not really for that. i have never heard f a Interlibrary Loan.

I have a great library system in my city -Minneapolis- and I use it constantly.
And I probably borrow a half-dozen books a year via Interlibrary (most of them coming from the U. of Minnesota).
My favorite place the Minneapolis Central Library: the fiction stacks, which, like 95% of the rest of the library's collection, is open to the public.

I am going to sound like such a freak when I answer this question, but I am such a nerd when it comes to the library. I can spend hours in there. And the library we had at the University I attended was awesome. I use every single thing there is to use at the library, though I haven't quite mastered the microfiche yet. This always happens to me...I go in to look up one thing and just begin to wander around looking up different things. Each thing you look up leads to something new. I will checkout books just to see what I can learn new. I think my passion for libraries started when I was younger. My mom would always take me and let me checkout a couple books. Thursday was always our day to go as our library stayed open until 8:30 pm on Thursdays. Now I am doing the same thing with my cousins (no children of my own). I think if a child as a passion for reading you should nurture it and let it grow. So I try to help them with that the way my Mom helped me.

Well, I've done all of those, but, lately, it's been few and far between..
I have so many books of my own, as well as dvd's.. occasionally, I'll go for an interlibrary loan, but, not much..
Ours is a small town with a small library.
BUT, I do have a card, and I do use it occasionally.

I do...I take my kids to the library once a week and they each get to check out a book or two. I get my books there also and we get DVDs there. Also, our library had a summer reading program for the kids which featured kid-friendly, affordable trips to a nature park and a german cloister. Our library also offers trips throughout the year for the whole family- it is a great resource than everyone should take advantage of!

I have just started taking my kids at the beginning of the summer. My daughter will be 6 in Sept and my son just turned 3 in June and they love going. We always get many books, as well we read some together there, we also get some movies to take home. They are also in a reading program and were both lucky enough to win a prize.

I take advantage of my local library constantly.
Besides a wide range of books, they have dvds on a huge scope of different interests.
The best part of it, is that it is all free.

Of course, that's why they made libraries, so that people can use all the services they provide.
