One word: blow.
If that doesn't work, you may want to stay away from that "picture them all in their underwear thing." Especially if you're a teacher at a high school or community college. That's how guys end up in a LOT of trouble.
Otherwise, just refuse to be nervous. Know that you have a job to do and that only you can do it. You're already up there, it's not like you'll be able to hide, so you might as well go after it balls-out.
Realize that no one is going to jump up and say, "You don't know what you're talking about!" Confident delivery belies credibility, which makes people want to listen to you. If they think they're being BS'd, they'll tune out, thinking, "If they haven't prepared or don't know what they're talking about, why should I bother?"

take beta blockers...lol
I get extremely nervous and have had to give briefings at work 2 times a week and i get so bad that when I stand up my eyes start rolling in the back of my head and I just about pass out. I had to go to the doctor to get something called beta blockers, I took them an hour before the presentation and it helped tremendously.
Before the meds what would help me is actually to not prepare much or think about what I was doing. I would keep myself very busy before it was time and then jump right into it without thinking. Seemed to go smoother then.

nerves are positive and negative my friend, positive nerves actually help performance and are quite natural.
negative nerves are a differnt kettle of fish and relaxation, excercise ect is the best way to combat them.
there is a lot of natural remedies available out there that work very well, especially some of the chineese herbs,,
good luck

focus on one specific spot, dont look at the audiance.
count up to ten and back,
take a deep breath and think of something nice that you would treat yourself after everything is done.
most of all, as someone else mentioned, pray and you will be ok.

think of something much worse that you could be experiencing.. and then you'll see that exam or race, etc. as not much of a big deal anymore

my mom always puts a tissue in her pocket, and while her hand is in the pocket she tears the tissue into small pieces and makes small little balls with her fingers...i admit it helps in some situations where you can have your hand in your pocket
