Middle school is NOT scary

It may seem that way..but it isn't

You will barely make contact with 7th and 8th graders...

The difference between Middle school and Elem. School

Middle school has better food
Middle school has lockers ( learn your combo!!)
Middle school has cuter guys ( WAIT UNTIL SEE THEM IN HIGH SCHOOL!)
And you don't stay in the same class all day which gives a chance to meet new people...
And Middle school goes by FAST...so do your work...
I can still remember my first day of 6th grade I feel like was in the 6th grade yesterday... and now I'm a sophmore in high school.

Middle school is pretty fun actually. But it's kinda the age where drama kinda starts? Study hard, have a good attitude, and make wise friends are my tips. Don't give in too peer pressure. That doesn't only happen in high school. Ah and if you want a head start, look for high schools during middle to ending of seventh grade. Start 6th grade of with a good reputation and a good start off with your teachers! You'll be on their 'good' side ;) I wish you the best of luck!

Middle school was around 35 yrs ago for me and I STILL remember how tough it was, in the begining. Remember most everyone feels this way. A couple of tips: Always eat breakfast. I never had time or hunger in morning with school nerves, back then, but could always manage a banana, or a shake, like carnation instant breakfast or a yogurt drink. the breakfast will always get you off to a good start. Natural stress relieving foods are broccoli and almonds. Walk in straight and tall, chin up. You will get through it, and it will be over in a couple of days,

I remember middle school! Oh its a sinch. All your teachers no dout explained how much more responsible you have to be and how much more work you will get right? Its true you will get more work, but the teachers still nag you for assignments - they don't abandon you - they don't become strangers, their just like any other teacher. Its really nothing to be worried about! Middle school is really fun. If your worried about a new school and new friends, just remeber that everyone is in the same situation as you. And if you get lost - you'll be lost with your whole class together... you will still move class to class as a group. Theres nothing to be scared of! You will have a blast!
Have Fun and Good Luck!

You're going to do great! There's nothing to be scared about, try walking in with a friend. You really don't need to worry about bully's like the ones shown on T.V., teachers aren't that clueless. Try joining a club through your school, it will help you feel better about your surroundings, and you'll get to meet new people too!

Don't focus on anxiety. Don't worry too much about what others are thinking of you because they aren't. Give them a reason to notice you, and make it a good reason. Smile at people and make eye contact when you pass them. Compliment people on the good things you notice about them. Make yourself known as friendly and outgoing. Chances are that lots of other people are as scared as you are, so force yourself to put them at ease. Concern yourself with their comfort rather than hiding behind your discomfort.
When you get to the lunch room, make sure to have some up-to-date trivial pursuit cards handy, just in case you have any trouble having conversation with the people around you. Get everyone to answer the questions. Ask people about themselves and their experiences. Don't talk about yourself too much. You will be fine.

It's natural to be scared...it's something NEW!! Just go in with a killer smile, and be yourself...if you're going with other friends...make arrangements to walk in together...I did that with my very best friend in the world when we walked through the front doors of our high school!! That was over 20 yrs ago...and we're still the very best of friends!! Remember that EVERYONE feels this way...and enjoy your first days... GOOD LUCK!!
