I've crooked teeth and my front teeth kinda cross into each other. Anyone would hardly find me laughing in public. I just smile so that ppl don't see my crooked teeth. I've had ppl telling me, that I look cute (those who don't know yet that I've crooked teeth) and I fear they wudn't be my friends or wudn't talk to me if they come to know about it.

I'm 19 years old and don't wanna have braces and also can anyone tell me how much it would cost to get invisalign onto the teeth or any other alternative to metal braces. (I live in britain). Money is an important factor too, cuz I'm a student & have to manage all my expenses on my own.
Any advice is highly appreciated (plz no rude or stupid comments)

braces are not that bad i dint want them either my teeth were straight but with and overbite, i just had fun with them u can get clear bands and then it just the silver and teeth u usually have a variety of colors to choose from so pick your favorite colors and you should sport them proudly we as a generation have come to the point where we are more aware or our looks and general health so having braces is nothing to fret about you are just making your apperance fit wat you feel about yourself on the inside dont worry about what other think just do wat you want to do and you will feel better about yourself,
about your feeings about no one liking you if they knew about your teeth...honey honestly if they dont like you because of your teeth then they arent people who should be priviledge to have you around

You're 19 and have crooked teeth. Get them taken care of now. Crooked teeth are not cute! You'll probably need metal braces; Invisalign is for minor straightening. Treatment and prices are different for everyone. Orthodontists in the U.S. will work with you regarding setting up a payment plan. I don't know how it is in Britain. Don't put it off; make an appointment now. I'm an adult with braces and it's one of the smartest things I've ever done. You'll be so glad you made the decision to have your teeth straightened. Good luck!

I really didn't want braces either but now that they've been taken off I am so glad i had them. I was 17 when I had them put on and i'm 18 now.
Honestly, no one notices that you have braces and thanks to celebrities they're becoming cool now.
And why would people not talk to you if you have crooked teeth? Only stupid, insecure people would make fun of you and there wont be many in university (if that's where you are).
Get it over with and get braces. Your dentist will talk to you about making them less noticable (i think you can get clear plastic ones) but the metal ones don't stand out anyway. They'll be cheaper than messing around trying to find another method...if there was a cheaper, less noticable method dentists would be using that anyway.

I really wish I had had braces when I was much younger as I have what to me is an annoying gap between the upper two front teeth. If it really is a problem for you, think of it as short term pain for long term gain. It also sounds as though you would gain a lot of confidence in yourself from having the work done. As a student in full time educaton, is it not possible to get the work done on the NHS? Maybe I am assuming there are still some NHS dentists out there :( Have a good think about it, and if you can get it done, why not go for it?

I didn't want them either, but I got them at the age of 14, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. I had them for 3 years and now have a perfect smile. It was well worth it. They can also attatch them to the back of your teeth, so that no one can see them, that's what they call, "Invisable Braces". Invisaline will not work on teeth that are really crooked, just slightly crooked. But ask an Orthodontist anyway. Good luck.

I got braces when I was 37! Now I am 45 and my teeth are perfect. I didnt smile before because of my very crooked teeth, but now I don't even think about it... love to smile all the time! I had the braces on for 2 years. Adult orthodontics are very common now, and even though you have to deal with the braces for awhile, your end result is so worth it. Invest now, because you are young. I promise you will never regret it! Good luck!

Braces are cool at the moment. Lots of TV and cinema stars are wearing them. Braces are not for ever and will sort out your crooked teeth. You have to decide if you want crooked teeth all your life or a slight embarrassment now of wearing braces. No choice really, is there!

Nobody can make you have braces but they will help your dental health in the the future. Cos your a student you'd prob get 'train track' braces free. It's now becoming common for young adults to have ortho, you'd prob find lots of people at uni have them.
Invisalign isnt suitable for everybody and it is expensive ( about £5500!). You could have ceramic brackets instead of metal ones but these have to be done on a private basis and would cost thousands. Talk to your dentist - they are human you know. If you don't understand everything they say ask the nurse to translate to normal english instead of technical talk.Hope this helps!

Don't worry about what others think because if they are your friends now then they will be your friends with braces too. It's really important for your teeth to be in a good position for your bite AND for cosmetics if you like. Otherwise you can have periodontal (gum) problems down the road as it is harder to keep misaligned teeth properly clean. Do it while you're young and invest in your future. You'll be so happy that you did after you're done. Do it for yourself and your health and not other people. Go talk to your dentist about your options.
