No. Nononononono....

Salvation is this:
Realizing you are a sinner and have broken God's laws, realizing He loved you so much He died for you to prevent you from being punished in hell/separated from Him, repenting of your sin, and submitting your life to him and dying to yourself.

If you cease to be a Christian and become an atheist, either you weren't truly saved or you chose to give up your salvation (if one can do such a thing).

And if you are truly an atheist, you wouldn't be very concerned about whether you went to heaven (but since I don't believe in atheists, I'd see the cause for concern).

But no, not safe.

No, because you don't mean it. If you've done crazy stuff all youur life, and then just say "OK, whatever, I'm a Christian..." and then just go back the way you were, you were never a Christian. This question was not well thought out, sorry. It's a shame because some people need a big wake up call in order to realize that God is calling them. Then that's when you'll probably break down and call on God. That's usually when you mean it the most. That's what had to happen to me, anyway. But you have to definitely mean it with your heart.

You cannot have the "once saved, always saved" attitude. accepting Christ is not just saying you're a christian. Im not saying that only Christians or Jews, go to Heaven. I believe that if everyone has the Christian incentive (to love everyone, and have a good sense of morals), then it is possible for someone who claims to be atheist to go to Heaven. That being said, even most atheists have the concept of God. They just choose not to believe. To choose not to believe in something usually means that you at least know the concept is there.

It sounds like you are asking what would happen if you were once saved (accepted Christ as your personal Savior) and then became an atheist for the rest of your life. If that is the case, the answer is no. You can not turn your back on God and go to heaven. If the situation was in reverse, if you lived your life as an athiest and then on your deathbed sincerey accepted Christ, then you would be saved. However, do not think for a moment that after living a lifetime as an athiest you would even have the slightest inclination to change at the last minute. God in his generosity is willing to give sinners every opportunity to gain salvation as the following parable illustrates:

[Mat 20:1] "The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard.
[Mat 20:2] After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard.
[Mat 20:3] Going out about nine o'clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace,
[Mat 20:4] and he said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.'
[Mat 20:5] So they went off. (And) he went out again around noon, and around three o'clock, and did likewise.
[Mat 20:6] Going out about five o'clock, he found others standing around, and said to them, 'Why do you stand here idle all day?'
[Mat 20:7] They answered, 'Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, 'You too go into my vineyard.'
[Mat 20:8] When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, 'Summon the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and ending with the first.'
[Mat 20:9] When those who had started about five o'clock came, each received the usual daily wage.
[Mat 20:10] So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more, but each of them also got the usual wage.
[Mat 20:11] And on receiving it they grumbled against the landowner,
[Mat 20:12] saying, 'These last ones worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us, who bore the day's burden and the heat.'
[Mat 20:13] He said to one of them in reply, 'My friend, I am not cheating you. Did you not agree with me for the usual daily wage?
[Mat 20:14] Take what is yours and go. What if I wish to give this last one the same as you?
[Mat 20:15] (Or) am I not free to do as I wish with my own money? Are you envious because I am generous?'
[Mat 20:16] Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last."

If you are an Atheist, you can become a Christian. I was and I am.
If you are a Christian and become an Atheist. Then you were actually never a Christian in the first place.

No if you have faith in God and Jesus Christ you believe in him always. Not only do you believe in him you live for him and try everyday to do his will. You develop a close relationship with him by praying for forgiveness and guidance. To stray away from the Lord is to stray closer to the devil.

No.

God is not a "safe bet."
If you believe in God, and in His only Son, the Christ, then you BELIEVE. You do not give this lip-service, saying you believe but not really. That does not count. God is the one who counts this, so you cannot lie about it. He will know.
