It depends on what you both want out of it, and the type of people you are. I have slept with two of my male friends in the past and we are still really good friends (and nothing more)!

Sure sleep with him/her you probably already have!
As long as the two of you are consenting and willing to sleep with each other the friendship won't break regardless if the sex is good or bad. If you throw yourself at him/her then it breaks the relationship, you seem desparate it comes off as unattractive. Sleeping with him/her your friendship may bond closer and who knows the two of you may even end up married!

No you just cannot even If the sex is good you will just lose a friendship with the person. They will forget all about you than, that is why they are your friend, If that is why they are your friend than they are not a true friend.
