I have never had a perm and my hair is down to my shoulders. How long do you think it would take for the average perm. And would I have to sit there with curlers in my hair. I want to look like Shirley Temple.

I have tight spiral curls, and my perm took about 2 & 1/2 hours. Before the perm it was about 3 inches below my shoulders and quite thick. Some stylists wrap slower than others, but mine was wrapped by two people. You can always call ahead or go in for a consultation to ask how long it will take for your specific hair. Make sure you also specify the type of curls you want to the stylist. Good luck!

ok seeing as you say that your hair is to your shoulders the kind of perm you want depends on the time as well as the length.

my mom is a haidresser and it can take her a only a few hours (less than 2-3) but your hair being long it might take longer!!!

i think the best thing to do is go to your nearest hairsalon and ask for a consultation where the hairdresser can tell you exactly how long it will take for the style you want and how much it will cost you..

good luck

The smaller the roller, the tighter the curl. Use a mild solution and read the instructions!!! Should take about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours depending on where you are getting it done or if doing it at home.

Including rolling, you will probably sit there for about 2 hours, depending in the thickness of your hair.

You've probably got to set aside about three hours; it takes a long time to roll long hair.

Read the directions on the back of the box. They always come with directions and if you don't read them you may damage your hair or cause it to fall out. Be careful and read the directions before you begin.
