hispanic heritage isn't a problem to me, being in our country illegally and being up to 'no good' is a Big Problem. With this, we have to talk about the whole drug thing, because it really does start, a lot of it anyway, in Mexico. And, with the drugs come the gangs, with the gangs come the rest of it. Being hispanic isn't a problem like I say, but being in the US illegally is definitely a problem. And, it's not just the gangs, it's the whole bill we have to pay for having a thousand people per day or so trying to walk on in. Do you realize that the US population alone has increased by 100 million or so in just about 50 years? Resources get thinner, expectations get higher, and the hyperbole to give more money out gets stronger and louder, and the country goes deeper in debt by 2 BILLION dollars a day. You tell ME when the wheels are going to fall off...
Besides, the deeper problem here is corruption in Mexico. If you're going to talk about hispanics, you may as well talk about Mexico. Mexico has MANY problems, crime, drugs, and poverty, just to name 3, and I'm sure there's others, and as much money as we keep shoveling at Mexico each year, making policies nicer and easier, and sending more aid money etc., the problems magically never seem to go away. That's because Mexico's become perpetually dependent on the United States financially.
Personally, what I'd like to see is Mexico undertake some real reforms, and I really hope that their new president, whoever it turns out to be, turns out to be serious on cracking down on crime, preventing the country from being a dumping ground or a criminals' playground, and thus become a good neighbor to the United States instead of a perpetual burden and a no-hope wasteland for some of its' citizens. Moving to the United States en masse is just running away from the problems, there.
I support building the border fence, and building up the border patrol, and having employer enforcement etc., to prevent illegal immigration, not just from Mexico, but from anywhere. If the only answer to a country's problems is 'move to america', they didn't read the question very thoroughly, and it's not right for americans to have to support them. We have our own crime, our own poverty etc. How about we fix ours, you fix yours, and we only have legal immigration, eh? Thanks.

It would depend on whether or not they assimilate and help keep this country strong, or try to make their own culture and drag this country down to the level of Mexico or another third world country.
If they are illegal, I am already pissed, hispanic or not.
There is nothing wrong with anyone's race. It is what they do as individuals to help or harm our society and standard of living.
Illegally entering the USA and becoming an instant CRIMINAL is not helping, it is harming our society.
Deserting their own country and their people will not make their country better. Staying and fighting for changes should be their goal, not becoming criminals here.
Illegal aliens are harming our standard of living in many ways. I am sure you already know exactly how illegal aliens commit this criminal harm, since I have seen the stats posted many times on this forum.

Nope I sure wouldn't. At the rate we are going I give it a 100 years and america will become majority hispanic, and white will drop into the minority. I can't wait! To bad I probably won't live to see it though.

No because most of the lower states used to belong to Mexico anyways. I don't mind Hispanic people one bit.

No, I would not be pissed off if the majority population in the US was Hispanic - not if they entered the country legally. I wouldn't mind the majority being anything but caucasion, as long as they did it legally - there is much to be learned from other cultures.

No I would not get pissed off. If laws were passed that were discriminatory or if there were other major changes in the society and I no longer felt comfortable in my surroundings, I would move out of the country. Is that being racist -- to prefer to live in a familiar environment with a familiar language and customs? Before you condemn me as being racist I would like to point out that Asians tend to group together as do blacks, Mexicans, Cubans, etc. but when white people want to do that they are racist. Why is that?

I speak Spanish. I have Mexican relatives. I love real Spanish food (from Spain).
I hate those that omit people from a conversation by speaking Spanish only. I'm all for mother country pride, but one shows allegience to the States by flying our flag ABOVE ALL OTHERS.
I don't mind if we become mostly Hispanic. History has shown a flux in the ethnicities of immigrants. If it's the Latinos turn, alright then. I just hope the next wave is full of sexy Asians....... oh or a nice wave of Irish boys!

It depends. If they had the characteristics of the current Hispanic population (high crime rates, high unemployment compared to whites, tendency towards gang membership, gun crime etc.) then America would have some serious problems.
If the Hispanics were to display traits similar to those of a typical middle class (which they probably would if they were a majority) then it would be irrelevant.

Now why would anyone get mad? After all, the reason for all of this is the legal/illegal part and not the fact that they are hispanic.
Why would you even ask a question like that? Would you be pissed off?? I wouldn't, I think we'd be better off.
