I believe as a Christian that it is my duty(or one of my duties) to answer your questions about God to the best of my ability. Ask away!

You are "allowed" to ask, although most of the people will find it hard explaining their point of view, because in the very start they have a feeling that no matter what they say, you'll say that it isn't true, that God doesn't exist etc. Basically they believe there's no point talking to you about something that you don't even try to understand, what you categorically reject only by saying that you're an atheist.
Talking about religion with someone who's not that religious is like walking on ice. The possibilities that an argument will be initiated are quite big. The religious people just don't feel comfortable being around you because their perception of the world / life / God is so very different than yours, that they basically don't feel like you have much in common.
This is why they'd rather talk to you about a topic other than religion. So don't force them!

If you have questions try doing an Alpha course, its a 12 week course and you get to ask every question youve ever had,I did it last year and have not converted to Christianity but everything is so much clearer in my head. You get a free meal aswell and usually go to the pub afterwards. They are attended by athiests , believers and people who just don't know so the discussion groups are a right laugh!

It is the Christian's duty to proclaim the Gospel. If someone asks a nonsense question, then that is simple hostility, and a Christian is not bound to answer. (Though some of us will... I for one enjoy a good debate as much as the next guy, even sometimes enjoy plaing devil's advocate.) There's also no requirement that they let it lie.

Ask away-
God's word tells us this:
1 Peter 3:15
"But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect"

I'm surprised you have to ask...christians tell me about god even when I'm asking a question that has no relevance to religion.
In all seriousness, I bet you'd enjoy asking religious questions of people from many different faiths. That way, you get a multitude of answers. :)

Hey ask away, if you are serious I will gladly answer your questions. and yes it is us christians responsibility to God to help other learn about Him. Not that we have a duty to you but to God. So ask and lets start the answers rolling. I have my Bible ready.

Not necessarily the Christians' duty, but no reason you can't ask. Not everyone will answer of course, unless you make the question appealing and clever.

You may ask any question you like. There is no guarantee you'll get answers that your looking for. Some people aren't serious enough to give these answers but others are. So ask away.

YES ask the question! Here's another one; Why are Christians so passionate in their defense of their god? They are scared. They float in a tiny little philosophical dinghy in an ocean of contradiction. They are paddling furiously toward the shores of certainty afraid that it's an illusion.....and they are correct. ROCK THE BOAT, BABY!
