The devil is just a metaphor for evil. People have problems dealing with abstract concepts, so they always prefer to "materialize" their ideas in some form of creature or object. Why do you think so many people still believe that "God" is an old man with white beard and clothes? How ridiculous is it, in our day and age, to believe that the "creator of everything" looks just like a hairless monkey that lives on Earth?

RE:
The devil does not exist? Its an image to blame our own wrong doings on.?
The bible is a thing of the past! Evreything in it talks about conflic between men and kings and war, the stuff that was going on back then. The devil is just something we created to obsorb the blame for the wrong doings of man kind. The bible need to be closed and put away .Its more of a history...

I can say without a doubt that there is no such thing as the devil! Oh there was Lucifer and he chose a differant path as so many of God's angels did, but I don't think he was ever the casue of the fall of man.
If the book is right(which I have my questions) then Lucifer didn't cause Eve to take of the fruit that would imply he shoved it into her mouth and made her eat it, no he didn't decive her either, he told her she would not die but her eyes would be open to the world and that's exactly what happened. Since that story was printed mankind has pointed their finger at the poor creature saying the devil made me do it! No you did it and now you want a scape goat so you don't feel as guilty about doing it.
I agree that the Bible is some what outdated but there's no need to do away with it, just look at it with a new prospective. This is a book several religous leaders a millenia ago decided to put together to simplify their religon as a whole, it was writen my man, it was assempled by man and it's interpreted by man and so in is inherintly flawed.
Don't shake the bible in the air screeming it's the word of God and must be obeyed. Read it and make up your own mind, it shows how God interacts with man throughout history and what His character is like. Don't take it as gosple, learn from it what you can and find a peace within yourself about it.
No book can save your sould no creature but you can condenm it, it's about your faith and what your heart tells you. Religon should always have been about the betterment and enlightenment of man.

The devil DOES exist. And he is NOT an image to blame our own wrong doings on. The devil can be responsible for putting temptations in front of us and some ideas in our heads, but WE carry them out by "free will". The devil CAN"T MAKE us do ANYTHING! He's just there to turn us away from God!!!!
Try looking at things this way; if in fact the bible is a lie or just a made up story, which would be better:
believing that the events in the book of Revelation are TRUE and sure to come SOON, to later find out it was all a hoax
or
NOT believing and finding out Revelation events are UPON you and SUFFERING for your DISBELIEF?
I see it this way, only one of the previous choices are HARMLESS! Think about it. :-)

I know very little of bible or any other religous teaching. But I think people themselves have created these "images" of God and Satan to kind of scare or prevent themselves from doing anything wrong and to encourage them to do more good things. But it's just my opinion.
Although, even when you read the satanic bible, it's not all bad or evil. It just shows you who you really are. Any person in this world is living and fighting to survive for him/herself (this is basically what it says in the principals) and I personally believe that it's the right thing to do but you have to understand that being selfish can be used in good ways too- so to say "cooperate" with others. Share when you think it'll come in handy later on, be friends with people who might help you later and so on. I hope I made sense.

from a religious standpoint, it is not solely the devil's fault for any wrong-doings. the devil is merely the instigator, the one who puts the thought of doing bad in your head, HOWEVER, it is you who makes the decision to follow through on those things, there is no "the devil made me do it" cause the devil cant MAKE you do anything.

there is only one thing I can say, my grandmother used to say that there isn't the same thing to call the devil, that see him coming. that always stock in my mind. i am a veteran of the us army that served overseas many years. I spent many nights in the wilderness by myself and asked the devil to come meet me and make a deal for my soul and i am still waiting for him. the devil is something humans invented for control. I do believe in God and good. but not the devil. devils were invented to contro us. I do believe in God and goodness...is just our nature

I agree that the Bible is out dated--besides isnt it weird that Jesus came to live(in teh history and future days of all mankind) he choose to come to Earth in the physical form in Biblical times. Come on why not later after most had lost all since in the Bible. Most of the pieces in the Bible do not add up, only encourage people to live holy. I'm not sure what your question is, but the devil can only be real if God is. I do not believe in the devil but I do beleive in evil. Watch the Exorcism of Emily Rose.

such a foolish person you are. when you can assume you know all the answers. your grandstanding only shows your lack of education. Nothing can be proven not religion not science. The bible will never be closed and put away such as the minds of men have. instead of speaking you should be listening. nothing is gain by only allowing your mind to think in one direction. Although I am not quoting out of the bible I dont really care about points. It is upsetting to watch someone toss away ideas based on nothing. you say there is no proof that support it but there also is no proof that doesn't.
intelligence only happens when you look at every level and accept that anything is possible. a closed mind will never gain knowledge.
