It's a spiritual/genetic thing...

God created Adam in His own image.
Seth (Adam's third son from which we are descended)
was made in the image of Adam. By the time Seth came along, sin had already entered Adam's heart.

We inherit the sin nature, AND the ability to choose right from wrong.
Interesting, when sin came into the world, mankind took on a Godly trait... to know good and evil.

First, I don't believe there were two individuals named Adam and Eve, and so it isn't their problem.

As for the initial comment, "we threw it away" is a pretty good statement. Not doing squat is one form of throwing it away, as well. Not only are we called on to belive in God, but that our actions should demonstrate that belief in salvation.

The old testament was written for a different people and a different time.

Why do you people read it as if it were a linear, manual for modern life in general?

Adam and Eve were... They had a CHOICE, they made it, poorly!

There are consequences to all choices, especially the poor ones. What is the harm in the example in this story? It is very pertenent, even to this day... Some things are, like; A Chanel handbag or Jackie Kennedy's fashon sense... timeless!

What if the old testament were a group of stories? Written by the scribes and pharasees to TEACH a man that would have naturally, back then been a much more idealistic yet simplistic, even primal creature?

What if Jesus came as a result to ammend the laws that were set in place to keep morality and tradition in place yet change (with the times) the old ways that became out dated and even unnecessary?

What if?

Personally, I believe it all happened, personally, I chose to believe every bit of it. But even if it was all metaphorical, even if it is a set of stories made by the wise men of the generations all written for very good reasons for their time. What is the harm in it?

History belongs to all of us. Not just one perspective, not just one tradition. The old testament was written for the JEWISH people and the new testament was written for every man who wanted to be included in the promises and the gifts of understanding life and soul force and spirit and the ways of creation and life in general and... What comes after the body dies and what animates it, is left.

There are so many speculations, so many mixed up, jumbled up theories, religions, beliefs.

I believe God is a force, I believe He is nature, He is energy, He is the essence of life that the Scientists can't find or figure so they cast aside the theory for the common ground state of common sense. (which is very unscientific actually.)

We all find God... The way is not important. We are all the same and the Bible... real or story was written by the most wise men of the time to show us that. There is more, there are ways that make sense unto a man, but those ways are death...

Life only begins after we change, after we die to the flesh and become, like the lesson wirtten in the wings of a butterfly and hidden in the secrets of a cacoon. It is that complex, and that simplistic all at the same time.

It doesn't matter HOW you believe, Who you believe in as long as you understand that spirit force, is Life and energy and science IS the blueprint of God.

The purpose of life... is to teach the body how to be spiritual and to teach the spirit what it is to be human and to reconcile the two opposite forces into one perfect form. It is in the lessons of alchemy where Newton tried his best in his linear mathematical, set in his ways... way, to find God, is the perfect culmination of force and body. Potential and stationary, here and there. And we... are made in His image. But by the story of adam and eve... We forgot this and needed to come here and be split like an atom, to be reconstructed the hard and slow way (through evolution) to come again to a knowldege and understanding of our complete true form... Solid and etheral.

Why do we as humans feel the need to drag the perfect things of the spirit, through the mud of opinion and speculation? As in asking questions like these? Posing them the way you do? Because like Newton... Like Galois... A man wants to understand the space between his intellect and his heart so desprately, with such a passion, that he sometimes gets lost inside himself and gives up on the reasons for the search... and succumbs TO the search itself. That... is atheisim.

Only the Christian god is holding a grudge. I don't think that was the original intent, but twisting and contorting the original intention of Chrisitianity to fit the opinions and needs of those in power over the past 2,000 years has made it such.

Of course, those that will scream "no it hasn't" are the ones doing the worst damage to Christianity.

No one should have to suffer for the sins of another. The loss of paradise is not our fault
at all. I was not there at the beginning and i refuse to take blame for what some one else
did.The problems is theirs not ours.

Well, in my case, turns out it wasn't God holding the grudge; it was me. When I, finally, quit running so fast, and took a look at things, and deMANDED He show Himself to me--He did! I just had to get empty enough. Then, I was finally ready to be filled.

Turns out it was me who was holding the grudge. When I finally stopped long enough to open my mind and try to understand, I did; and, you know what? He's getting nicer and nicer. (Or is it me?)

how would people treat you if they found out that Hitler was your dad? Or a serial killer? You can bet they would see you differently even though what they did had nothing to do with who you are. The old expression the apple doesnt fall far from the tree,is true. God blames all of us for the original sin.

The sins of the father (or parent) are passed down to the son (or child).

We inherit the sins of Adam & Eve. We work hard, the ground does not want to give up its nutrients, etc.

Are you telling me you've never lied, cheated, or stole anything... Asking this question makes you something of a Hypocrite. Paradise is waiting but only if you deserve it. You could however become a muslim, kill yourself and dozens of other incent people and get 72 virgins in heaven.

What sound to be more of a crock of crap?

You can get it back in your life, by accepting Jesus as your Savior. It will take a while for Him to bring paradise into your whole being as you surrender it to Him.

Later after all people have had tier chance to surrender to Him, He will bring paradise back to this earth. But only those who have proven that they can live peacefully there will be allowed to stay.
