I believe that we all need some affirmation from our love ones. It's nice to be confident and sure of who you are but, when I get dressed or if I'm doing something that will affect both somehow, I would like to know if I look good for him or, if he likes what I'm doing. We all need to have our own beliefs and opinions and tastes thought, but I love when he tells me that I look pretty or he is proud of me. I guess we all do like to be acknowledge at some level.

Very confident, and no I don't need nor do I like a lot of affirmation or confirmation. My deceased husband, used to tell me I was tooo independent, and to confident. He needed to be reassured all of the time. I think that that takes too much energy to always have to make sure you are telling your partner, that they are great and wonderful and blah, blah, blah. if they can't tell by how you treat them, they oh well. I was very good to my husband. I took very good care of him. I would ask him why he needs all of this confirmation of my love don't I show him enough, he would say, "Oh, honey, it is just nice to hear." Humm....

Nah, I don't need it, in fact too much makes me think the person doing it is being facetious. I am more cocky than confident. When no guy can compete with you it is kind of easy though.

I used to be that kind of person and found that the more you do to please people the less you are doing to please yourself. I grew up and the only opinion that matters now is Gods and my three children and only part of what my children think about me matters. I live for me now and make me happy first. How can you make someone else happy if your not happy with yourself. It feels to be me now. People who love and trust you should you let you make your own choices. Just like some of us don't like meat or fish and we shouldn't order something to eat based on what someone else likes, we are the ones who have to eat it. You need to be happy and learn to please yourself now before you set yourself up for a lifetime of misery.

I do trust him but I am insecure myself. Like I always worry that I might not be doing enough for him to show him how much I love him and how much I care about him.

Me too, I like affirmation & confirmation. I feel it creates less miscommunication.

Are you kidding? EVERYONE is like this! If they say otherwise, they're lying - either to themselves or the world at large!
