I keep reading all of these questions that make reference to pushy christians. I'm a christian... and I'm not pushy. I love all people, I respect that other people have different beliefs and faiths..I don't try to push Jesus on them, I don't try to convert them.. I let them believe what they will, just as I believe what I will.. Does this make me a bad Christian?

Actually that makes you normal. The vast majority of Christians think as you do but there is a large minority that are hell bent on pushing their faith. and in the end usually just give Christianity a bad name.

No, you are not a bad christian. The Bible does say that we need to share and spread the love of God, and that can simply mean showing your faith and being a good example of a christian by helping out others and having a good attitude towards things. When you do this, it shows others what faith, trust, and love for God does. Being pushy is usually not the way to get the message across. Just keep living your life through God! : )
And remember to pray for those people who are calling ALL christians pushy

Not all Christians are pushy. However, there are pushy Christians that make people like you look bad. You don't need to worry about the insults made about some Christians, but the people who try to convert others should stop what they're doing.

No, you're not a 'bad christian',and there are pushy people in all religions AND political beliefs, etc.
All being pushy does is get people mad and on the defensive. Being pushy about anything no matter what it is is rude and unproductive. Jesus was NOT pushy during His ministry; tho He DID firmly stand up for what He preached and did not back down. God provides the opportunities and leading as to when it is right to personally witness to someone. All christians are not called to be 'Billy Grahams' and our lives themselves should be a living testimony to others of what God has done in our own lives.

I respect other peoples views as well, but, when someone is attacking Christianity and God, then I feel they are attacking me, as God is in me. So, I simply have to step back, pray and decide whether or not to answer a question and how. A lot of non-believers are trying very hard to push our buttons and they succeed sometimes. They want proof that we are hateful, pushy, nasty people, which is the complete opposite of Christ's teachings. Well, you know what, I am a Human Christian, I do have emotions and yes sometimes they take over. God forgive me my humanity and I hope you all do to. God Bless!!

If I invite you to a birthday party ,does that mean I care about you , or I'm out pushing birthdays? I know we as christains make misakes but more often than not we are more worried about offending man than we are God.The unprofitable servant was guilty of doing nothing,it wasn't gross sins that cast him into hell. What I call being pushy is when people want to kill you for not believing as they do.I do believe though that many times we talk the talk but don't walk the walk.People will sometimes believe what you say , but they will always believe what you do.I will remind you of two other pushy men .Jesus and John the Baptist .And wasn't there some others.

Not at all. You're the kind of Christian I like to make friends with. I'm an Agnostic, by the way, and I have a real problem with the "pushy Christians" as you put it, because they try to change who I am. But I have many friends who are Christians and, like you, don't try to push it onto me.

No, being a Christian does not mean you try to force others to be saved. And, yes, you should respect other people and their right to not believe in our faith. Think about it...God respects our right to not follow Him. It's called free will. As Christians, we are expected to 1)accept Christ and turn our lives over to Him; 2)worship Him in fellowship with other Christians; and 3)evangelize. Often times #3 is the most difficult because we don't know how to evangelize without offending others or turning them off from Christianity. Take Jesus as your role model in terms of sharing the Word. It's a message of love and salvation, not one of hate and damnation. If you want concrete ways to evangelize in your family, circle of friends, and the world, go to the leaders in your church and express this desire.

You are a good Christian. We ALL need to continue to grow as Christians and support one another.

I am a christian too, and I am not only able to understand what you mean, though lol.., you need to think that we aren't perfect, and this include also non-Christians, since the word of Christianity became a word, and the path to better our selves, non-Christians fell insecure about their own believes, as well that they don't understand why, we can love each others, just because we have such convictions. they will always plot against Christianity, even within their own minds, alone, and by their own self's. could this be Envy?, Jelousy?, they jsut don't want to understand, even if we show then we can understand each other. God be with you, and with others. Some times isn't enough to bless each other but is best to uderstand and support one another. God bless his Son in Heaven, and God bless you in the name of his Son Jesus amen.

Not really an answer for you, just wanted to tell the person who talked about Christians who will tell you that you'll go to hell for not believing in Christ.
Most Christians don't do that, but remember, if you ask what our faith believes, and you are told that is what our faith tells us, that's not being pushy, that's answering a question.
Sometimes I think people would prefer we lie.

If that's in response to my question I would say no. I was referring to those that respond to a question about Islam with "JESUS IS THE WAY!," and not answering their question at all, or even considering that they may be trying to make a serious point, merely trying to make people feel like crap because they're not a Christian. If it is meant for those people to become Christians, then God will chose them and they will come to Him.
