I did it in about 3 days, but I drove somewhere around 800-900 miles a day or more, I was also driving for about 12-14 hours a day.

Statistically its 2779.03 miles from NYC to LA, and it takes an estimated 41 hours, 16 minutes.

Figure it out this way... you will average 60 miles per hour when you take refueling and eating into account. Then add on sleep hours and you've got your total.

I did it in under 3 days as I drove 20 slept for 4, drove 20 slept for 4 and finished up with another few from San Diego to central PA. The speed limit was 55 back then so I only sped at night AND I was 23 at the time, lol!

Ive done it in 3 days with 2 people driving but you have to be in that mood to just keep going. We actually droibe all night the first night and sleep in Chyanne.

The one trick, no matter how long you tk is to not make frquent stops IF you can go approx 150 miles betweem stops and just get in that moods it goes by. Id leace at about 5am after a good nght sleep/

GOOD LUCK

Several days, probably. But if you don't mind my asking, why on earth would you want to drive all that way? (I mean, if you were in Chicago, I could see you wanting to drive Route 66.... but New York is a different matter).

It all depends on how quickly you want to get there. No nonesense trip? (Not sight seeing....) straight shot, stopping for gas, etc., four days and nights. One time I drove from Poughkeepsie New York, to San Francisco in 46 hours......averaged about 90 MPH.....this was in 1971.....Mach 1 Mustang.......just back from Nam and I started with about 20,000 mics and arrived ....empty....so, maybe there was a day or two lost in while in awe of this plant or that grain of sand.....heehee.....

Depends on your stamina I guess. If you drive 10 hours a day, it would take you about 4 days.
