I want one that is not very expensive but can take quality picture. Mostly I will be using 4X6 pictures but probably a few 8X10's.

Go for a compact digital camera above 5 megapixels.

Check the Canon Powershot series and buy which ever suits your budget.

In the "not very expensive" category there are a number of cameras that can take 5 megapixel pictures. That would let you easily do 4x6 even if you crop away a lot of the original image to just enlarge your favorite part of it. Doing 8x10 is also easy with that kind of image pixels (although you can't do extreme cropping there.
As far as brand names they are all about the same. I like Nikon myself but there are some HPs and Olympus that are on sale lately for close to $100 that would probably make you happy too. They are small in size, with big displays, and easy on-screen help.

I have a kodak digital. It takes great photos and it easy to use. Look for a bundle that comes with the dock. I don't like the dock for loading photos on the computer but it is wonderful for a place to keep the camera so you know where it is and for recharging the batteries every day.
