fred,
To blaspheme the Holy Ghost today, is just the same penalty, or worst, than blaspheming Jesus Christ, or God the Father. You'd be doomed forever without mercy in this world or the world to come. So did those Pharisees turn around and call Jesus devils because He was casting out evil spirits and healing the sick. What is the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost now? Is to call the work of God, the devil. Why? 'Cause the Bible said that He was standing there with the Spirit of God doing these things, telling that man who he was and where he come from, and they said He was a fortuneteller, saying He had a unclean spirit: calling the works of God and unclean spirit, which is blaspheming. Anyone knows what blaspheming is. Blaspheming the Holy Ghost is the unpardonable sin which will never be forgiven in this world or the world to come. But if you're carnal minded, you'll make fun and laugh at the Holy Ghost. "It's blaspheming of the Holy Ghost." You're not talking of that man; you're talking to the Spirit that's moving in that man. What is "blaspheme?" Means "to talk about, ridicule, make fun of, blaspheme." You've got to respect That. And when he did that, He turned around and looked at them Jews. He said, "I'll forgive you. I, the Son of man, will forgive you for saying this, blaspheming the Word of God." But said, "Someday (in other words) the Holy Ghost is coming to do the same works. And one word against It will never be forgiven a man in this world, neither in the world that is to come." "Blasphemy" is "to be contrary to," or, "speak against." You're blaspheming, when you do that. When many of those high-classed men stood around there, and all their forms and things, and said, "This man's Beelzebub," and Jesus told them they was blaspheming, calling the Spirit of God an evil thing. The Word says so; the Spirit's a-vindicating It, and you call It an unclean thing, you've crossed the line between mercy and judgment and can never be forgiven for it.That's the reason I indict this generation of guilty of crucifying, blaspheming, the manifested Son of God. I indict them, that God has clearly identified Himself in His Word in the last days, and made Hisself to know that He's still the same yesterday, today, and forever; and they've coldly turned It down. And again I say: "Here," the churches, "They," the teachers, "Crucify," by blaspheming, "Him," the Word. "But I'd like to say this, that Jesus said, "Whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven him." ACTS 13:45. "And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the Word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy, and spake against those things which were spoken by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming." These of Satan's synagogue were not blaspheming God in this instance (though that goes without saying) but they were blaspheming the true church. The Jews of Jerusalem blasphemed the church at the beginning.

Matthew 12:22-37.... is the experience of Jesus expelling demons. The Pharisees said that the demons were responsible for his power, not holy spirit..and that was their blasphemy.

This is blasphemy; calling the power of the Holy Spirit or the Holy Spirit..which is very holy...a wicked demon.

Likewise today, God said in Acts 2:17-21 that in the last days God would give signs and that people would prophesy. Prophets could have any of the gifts, especially since the 1,000 year reign of Christ has begun!! (although the manifestation of it has not happened yet) If anyone credits the demons with the works of the Holy Spirit from Jehovah, there is absolutely no forgiveness for this whatsoever. And it would behoove many a religious leader not to judge on these gifts, as they would be putting their own lives in jeopardy, and leading their flock to Gehenna with them.

Blaspheming is lying on, ridiculing, or cursing God. Actually, it
says we can blaspheme God and Jesus, but not the Holy Spirit.
That is because The Holy Spirit is our connection, our lifeline
to God. Blaspheming the Spirit cuts us off from God.
Despite all thier talk. Most have no Fear of the Lord. Justifying
their personal doubts and fears by saying everything of a spiritual nature is from satan.
God is running neck and neck with the devil in the race for our souls. From sending the Holy Spirit to counter the work of
seducing spirits. To sending His two witnesses when the time is
right, to counter the work of the beast and false prophet.

Spam's pretty much got it.

Blasphemy is denying the existence of God - basically calling God a liar (which according to Scripture is against human nature to begin with).

You can't get forgiveness if He doesn't exist for you. Who would you ask?

Some blasphemy can be forgiven.
But the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit won't be forgiven.
The role of God the Holy Spirit is to point us to Jesus, testify of Jesus, and remind us of the things He has taught us in the Bible.

Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit would be to reject Jesus, the focal point of the Holy Spirit's ministry to us.

laymens terms- blaspheming is running your mouth in a totally absurd manner. the definition of blasphemy is actually the display of gross irreverance for someone/ something with exalted esteem (very important) - usually god, something sacred. you can be forgiven for anything, depending on whether you really deserve it.

Its going against the word of God or God's will! Anyone can get forgiveness as long as you ask for it. Our God is a forgiving God! Ask and you shall receive as long as you have accepted God into your heart!

BLASPHEMING, IS WHEN SOMEONE TALKS & SAY VERY DISRESPECTING THINGS ABOUT GOD, SOMEONE THAT SWEARS, AND USES GOD'S NAME IN VAIN! JUST BEING TOTALLY DISRESPECTFUL TO GOD OUR SAVIOR! IF YOU QUIT BLASPHEMING,REPENT AND YOU ASK GOD FOR HIS FORGIVENESS, THAT MAY HELP YOU! BUT AS LONG AS YOU KEEP BLASPHEMING, THAT IS SHOWING OUR LORD THAT YOU ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE DISHONEST & DISRESPECTFUL TOWARDS HIM!!!!!!

Blasphemy is basically dissing god or saying he doesn't exist. You can't get forgiveness for it because god doesn't exist.
