Why disinfect? As long as it's only you using the brush, then you are not introducing anything more pathogenic. The bacteria aren't going to flourish without nutrients, and will die if the brush dries out. But if you insist, then a mild bleach like Milton's is the way to go. If you've had a respiratory infection, then just throw it away for a new one.

I dont see a reason why you would want to disinfect your toothbrush if you follow these simple rules:
* dont let anybody else use your brush
* change your brush every 3 months
* change your brush if you get a flu or cold
* keep the brush as far away as possible from the toilet seat

If you still want to disinfect it, you can spray it with hydrogen peroxide (preferably food grade), let it sit for 30 seconds, rinse and towel-dry it.

Best to change the toothbrush after every 03 months. But if you insist, you can dip the toothbrush head in boiling water for 05 minutes.

Buy a new one. If it is not an electric brush the cleaner you buy to disinfect will probably cost more than the brush.

Put it in the dishwasher and put 1/4 cup bleach in with the detergent. This works wonders......I haven't been sick with the flu in years!! have an 8yr old daughter and I do this to her tooth brush once a week.....for the past 2 years she has not missed a day of school from being sick!!
