I have always found that if I sit in the front row in class, I am forced to pay better attention. This might also help you. I also take a lot of notes so I am forced to pay attention to what the teacher is saying/doing. It is always necessary to do all your homework- not just because it is due, but because you need to actually understand it. If there is something in the homework you dont understand, you should ask the teacher or one of your friends to explain it to you. Do your best and try to actually understand the information you are given.

Try seeing if a teacher will give you help asfter school, or ask your parents to hire you a tutor. You do need some help with your grades - Science and Math are core classes and poor grades here will limit the colleges who will accept you.

If your grades are suffering, you may need to limit after school activities until you can bring them up. If you can't survive without hanging out with your friends, try getting together to study together - as long as you can stay disciplined and actually study!!

I went to collage as an adult after dropping out of high school. I found a book called Study is Hard Work by William Armstrong to be very helpful. My Grand-kids also used it in high school. It gives very practical advice. It is a fairly old book so you should be able to find it at half.com or any of the other used book stores for very little,

Focus more on your weak areas (Math, Science, and Language) and spend more time with these subjects. Also, consider getting a tutor for these subjects.

Math is practice and more practice.

Do the same problems in the book over and over again. If you do not understand how to do the math, you need to ask for help.

All I can suggest is that you read and re-read and re-read your textbooks until you have them almost memorized.
Verbal skills come easy to some of us while science and math are more difficult. You may wish to consider tutoring.
