some people read a nice question and tell you thanks thats a nice question and give you a genuine answer,

then there are like these rabid Christians, its not all Christians, but there like these rabid dogs, and they just answer every one of my questions in a following manner, paraphrasing:

bark bark
you need jesus
bark bark
your religion is futile unless you have jesus
bark bark

Does anyone else get that in your questions, this pack of people that have no respect for any body's faith in something besides Jesus? And just tell you "bark bark jesus bark bark"

They have taken this whole YA thing personally and are reacting in an un-Christian way. 1 Col. 4:5-6 tells us how we are to speak with unbelievers: "5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one."

In other words, don't act like a barking dog, just answer the question undefensively, with thought, respect and reflection. Take full advantage of the fact you're speaking with an unbeliever.

Peace.

I know exactly what you mean.

It's become so common I'm amazed you still hear the "Jesus" bit. I've tuned it out so it's just a lot of barking. Plus a woof or two.

I do get very interesting answers from some Christians to my questions. But at least in Y!A R&S the barking mad ones are a definite majority (I'd come across very few creationists until I started frequenting this site, for example).

I see that in all the Pagan and Wiccan questions. It can be a totally innocent genuine question that has nothing at all to do with Christians and someone will

bark bark
Satan is working his ways
bark bark.

Then you have a few (really just a few) Atheists that will come on every question of any type believer - even ones that have nothing to do with evolution of some of the hotter topics - and answer

bark Bark
I don't believe in fairy tales
bark bark
believers are stupid
bark bark

There are mean people visiting all the categories - I asked a question about chemotherapy and got chastised. It is annoying - I was attempting to read answers to a question last ninja asked recently, but honestly, some nincompoop had a 40 page answer and i got tired of holding down the scroll button. Yahoozies should put the ratings bar at the top so these can be quickly eradicated.
There are some folks who are not Christians and give the sort of answers you mentioned just to make the rest of us look bad.
Posers!

I love you Jim, you're making me laugh and smile today! Gotta love the subliminal messaging. I don't get that here, because I don't really ask questions here, but I get a lot of garbage in polls and surveys...it's to be expected. So which is worse, those of us who are on here at work asking intelligent questions and giving intelligent answers while also still doing our paying jobs, or the people who are barking and barfing all over the Y!A place and not working at all....hmm....you should ask something like that maybe, in more eloqent words than I can. Anyway, to the barks I say this:

Thanks thats a nice question.

Rabies is a zoonotic disease, a disease that is transmissible from animals to humans. Rabies is a virus known to affect all mammals, including humans. Most commonly, rabies is found in carnivores and insect-eating bats.

The word rabies is from the Latin, "to rage". The classic image of a wild rabid animal is one that is frothing at the mouth, ready to attack anything and everything. This is a stage of rabies called "furious rabies". What is lesser known is another stage of rabies called "dumb rabies". This is where the animal appears sedate, not vicious, and the main sign seen is one of drooling and varying degrees of paralysis. What should be a wild animal such as raccoon, skunk, or coyote who appears "tame" and a nocturnal animal is seen calmly approaching humans in the daylight. This is a big danger to those people who are inclined to pet these animals.

I don't real ask any religious questions but I do notice people do that a lot. Plus there loads of questions just to wind those people up. There should be someone to control the quality of the questions and answers on here then maybe we could actually learn something.

Yes, it's people like that who give Christians a bad name. People think of Christians and think "OH GOSH HERE COMES THE LECTURE." Just be kind about it. Jesus dined with the sinners and tax collectors, but he wasn't shoving his life and teachings down their throat.

One track mind and one track vision they cannot see further then what they have heard and have never had the Patience to explore new horizons and ideas
seeing these type of people talk I sometimes wonder weather it is best to be an atheist

I see that all too frequently. Some people do not realize there are other religions that do not believe jesus was the son of god. It does not make their religion wrong, or any better or worse.
