My MOS is 44C Financial Management Technician (even though I'm sure that doesn't really make too much of a difference)

It's possible, but highly unlikely. They're going to send you where they need you the most. MOS has alot to do with where you can go. With the Iraq situation now, they need to keep posts full so others can rotate out. It's just a fact of military life. You can submit your preference, but be prepared not to receive it. Needs of the Army before needs of the soldier.

Good luck!!

I received my first choice of permanent duty station, but then I had it guaranteed in my contract. After that, I made sure that I got a "Station of Choice" in my reenlistment contracts, until I couldn't get them anymore. By that time, tho, I went back to Germany and stayed. The system worked for me.

I was given the opportunity for mine, though I did subsequently turn it down for the chance to keep my entire AIT class together at one post. Those classmates became my platoon mates, and we're still together to this day even 10 years removed from the Army.

In my experience with talking with other enlisted personnel. A lot has to do with where you ask for. I mean if everyone is asking for Hawaii, people are going to get disappointed. If you ask for Alaska, you will probably get it. Even more has to rely on your MOS. Do they really need tank mechanics at a signal post of 500 soldiers?

If you are already in AIT and didn't have choice of station in your contract, sorry, you are going wherever they send you. It is needs of the army, not what your needs are. Some things are guaranteed, but they must be in writing. My station of choice was in my contract, I wouldn't have signed it any other way.

I didn't get my first choice of duty station, but i did get my choice of countries in Germany. If you want something in the states, there are posts that seem to soak up the new recruits faster, if its one of those you seek, you should have no problems.

My husband got his first choice BUT it depends on the one you want. Some are in high demand and go to people with more time in.

Possible, but noty very probable. The Army will send you where the Army needs you. That's how it is.

Chose my job and 1st duty station the day I enlisted. Depends on your MOS and where you want to go. If you are Airborne and chose, say, Hawaii..................that ain't gonna happen.........
