please don't laugh, but i have downloaded some "avi" movies & can't play them. the quicktime that i have won't play them. what do i need to do. help me!! :(

You need the XviD or DivX codec installed. (just install both) Both are free.

Windows Media Player will be able to play the file once these are installed.

The reason you can't play your movie is because Quicktime hasn't got the correct codecs installed. Download the codec pack below and then try to play your movie again in Windows Media Player or Quicktime - it should now work.

Use Windows Media Player. If that doesn't work, try AlShow...it works great for me :-)

I guess, you need "dvix" codec. Try to get one from www.download.com

use vlc media player, its simple to use and plays everything...during install....install the full version
