i know alot may think this is cruel, but my cat HAS to STAY OFF of the windows...in our apartment complex no one is suppost to have cats, dogs, etc. But alot of people have been "pardoned" including us. The only stipulation is the animals cannot be on the windows so that others dont see and complain. Now we dont have window-sills so when the windows are closed its no problem, we let him on the windows when they are open at night...any ideas on how to keep him off?? I know its natural but any ideas??

Hi there...consider placing double-sided sticky tape on the sills so when he jumps up there he will get an unsuspecting surprise that isn't inhumane. Cats dislike being stuck so they soon learn to avoid those areas. Please keep in mind since cats are naturally inquisitive they will return to investigate a few more times to be sure it wasn't a one time incident. Therefore, be sure to replace any tape that was removed until the cat shows no desire at all to return.

I am glad that you have been "pardoned". People who try to sneak cats into complexes where they are not allowed often have to "evict" their own pets which can be heartbreaking.

My cats have special ledges that fit into windows so they can look out. They also have a very tall cat tree that is not close to any window and is high enough for them to see out the window when they are near the top of the tree.

Maybe you could position a "tree" in such a way as to let the kitten look out. It's good that kitty can see out at night.

I would just have the cat stay somewhere in the back of the apartment if you are away during the day. She can become accustomed to using another room for her daytime naps and such. If you are home just take her off the windows and put her on her "tree".

Use a squirt bottle with water.....works wonders!

Can U maybe get one of those carpet covered kitty stands and set it back from the window a ways? It would give your cat a bit of a view.

Also, try using something like chicken wire to keep him from jumping up.

I had the same problem with my kitty in the apartment windows. Go down to a pet store and get a spray that repels cats, ask the person that works there what brand is best.

squirt him with a water gun when he tires to get on the window sill. this will discourage most bad behavior in cats, but you have to be consistant.

double sticky tape.

start thinking about finding a new place that you don't have to worry about if your cat is in the window.
