No, you most certainly are not abnormal. Anyone who likes this abomination is the abnormal one.

I used to work on the country estate that was turned into a Mr Blobby theme park, occasionally on dark stormy nights you can still see him running free in the woods. Don't be scared, it's a beautiful sight...

You are okay. Many people develope certain fears as a child such as the fear of the dark or perhaps the closet monster. Many of us out grow these fears while others take a little longer and may never truely out grow them. It is just something that we carry on with from our childhood. Look at Steven King. He was extremely afraid of clowns growing up as a child. Thus is the reason he wrote "IT". Maybe this fear is something that you could use for a positive turn out. Got you a publisher yet?

I emphasise entirely with your very natural fear loathing.
He is, after all, a man who likes to dress up in a gigantic pink suit and shout 'Blobby, Blobby, Blobby' at anyone who will listen; culminating in his pouncing upon innocent bystanders and rubbing himself suggestively against their bodies.
Just because he has a silly name does not remove the implication that he is a sex pest.

Haha :) I laugh with you and not at you, I promise, because I have the same problem. There was a character that hosted the scary movies at night here in Indiana years ago, his name was "Sammy Terry". I am STILL terrified to see him or hear him, I cant stand it. I think if we were jolted with fear bad enough as a child, we will always be afraid of it. Just try to avoid it at all cost.

No. Lots of people are afraid of plasic balloons which, in effect is what Mr Blobby is. Or he is, at least, a man encased in a plastic balloon with a twizzle in his mouth. Fear of balloons is called globophobia - much written about fear, see wikipedia

He's fat, blad, covered in yellow spot and runs around with his excorcist style voice screaming blobby blobby bloobbyy!. On top of that he's usually naked - what's NOT to be scared of.
Should I mention that I'm also scared of THE MOOMINS, CLANGERS and BUTTON MOON. hmmm, probably not.
