ny boyfriend has tongue cancer and also in the floor of yhe mouth.his started out with a swollen lymth node in the neck then a lesion came under his tongue.his mouth is so sore he can't eat has a feeding tube.took 35 radiation treatments and 4 chemo.that did not get rid of the cancer, so he's having surgery done on sept.11 a 10 hr surgery to renove some of the tongue and jaw has to be reconstructed.i hpe this helped you

A variety of symptoms can be present. There might be an ulcer or lesion that bleeds. There can be pain, difficulty with moving the tongue (making speech or swallowing difficult or painful as well), swelling of part of the tongue, or even blockage of air/food in the bottom part of the throat... Your tongue is actually quite a bit bigger than what you see in the mirror, it extends down the throat pretty close to the voice box!

i'm not sure that there's a definitive symptom for tongue cancer. i was diagnosed with it in 2004. my only symptom was a white, sore, canker-sore like spot on my tongue. because it lasted for over three months and it was tender at times, i went to see an ears, nose, and throat specialist. he immediately performed a biopsy that determined i did have tongue cancer. surgery was immediately scheduled and he successfully removed all the cancerous cells. early intervention is the key.
