***what is an original sin? ****

Original means first, so the original sin to my understanding is when God began to create.
That act is the Original sin.

****what are the examples of an original sin? ****

Every created thing created during the creation is an original sin, culminating with The Creator
resting on the seventh day.

Have a blessed day.

There's only one original sin, and Adam, a figurative person, committed it in a garden located no one knows where. No one knows when this sin happened either. And, as bad as this original sin was, nobody died as a result of it, or even got mained.

It seems the man took a bite from a piece of fruit (some say it was an apple, but nobody even knows that for sure) that was in his own garden.

But, in typical religious fashion, both the Jews and the Christians claim that it's your fault and that they are somehow exempt from it.

Go figure.

The first thing that you should be considering is whether the idea of sin is actually real.

Think hard about it. The idea of sin assumes certain things about God that seem highly unlikely to me.

First it assumes a God who is too incompetent to organize a simple educational field excursion and get all of the students home safely.

How likely is this that God would not be smart enough to come up with a plan for our salvation that is going to work?

It also assumes that God must have created something imperfect, us.

One might assume that God could create someone perfect each and every time if he chose to. Assuming God is capable of this, then it follows logically that we must be perfect creations if we are actually creations of this perfect God.

Unless of course you are saying that God chose to create us imperfect. If God created us imperfect then anything that may go wrong is Gods fault, not ours. This seems a bit illogical at best so I think that we need to assume that What God creates would have to be perfect.

If this is the case then nothing that we can do could change Gods will unless we think that we are more powerful than God is. How likely is it that we the creation could be more powerful than the creator. I personally find this idea somewhat amusing, and a bit absurd.

Religion tells us that God is perfect. If this is true then Gods creations could hardly be considered to be imperfect.

If this is the case then Nothing that we can ever do could possibly change this perfection the God willed, unless we were so powerful that our choices could override and change the will of God.

How likely is that????

Think about it.

The idea of sin is simple nonsense, a lie made up about God by religion.

Original sin refers to Adam and Eve, some religions think you are born with sin. Other religions don't believe this to be true, because it goes against children being punished for the sins of the father.

Original sin is not an actual sin it's a wound in our nature that inclines us toward sin, every human person is born with it.
It was caused by the disobedience of Adam and Eve, and resulted in the fall.

depends on which term your speaking of.. Original sin in the biblical form is disobedience to God in the Adam and Eve era, when they were sent out of the Garden of Eden.. Original sin in psychological terms is that you are born into sin, sinful beings already, but it is thought that you are a sinner from birth. Which I suppose goes along with the biblical sense as well.

According to Christian tradition, Original sin is the condition of sinfulness (lack of holiness) into which human beings are born. It is also called hereditary sin or birth sin.

Used with the definite article ("the original sin"), it refers to the first sin committed by humans, seen as the seed of future evil effects for the whole human race. Christians usually refer to this first sin as "the Fall".

Being born is the only original sin, though in some cultures being born a girl is one too. It's because your mother wasn't a virgin unlike Mother Mary.

The original sin, was the apple or apple like fruit. accutually could have been a peach but it goes deeper than that, it goes to stealing the fruit. Or does it? it goes even deeper than that, it goes to 'not doing as we were told in the first place' which was to enjoy the garden and stay away from the tree of knowledge. the knowledge of what is out side of ourselves and not focus on the true God Our creator. But then sin after all is only selfishness and nothing more than that. And look what we got for it. Paradise or hell here on Earth. depending on how you see things. Personally I love the world love my God and enjoy not being 6ft down how about you?

Original sin is one of the more absurd myths fostered by religion. It has no credibility whatsoever for anyone living in the real world.
